Donny is so stupid that he too uses the 92.9 million not in the

labor force scam. Most of these people are either too young

or too old to be in the labor force. Some 80 year retired person

would be counted as being part of the labor force. This number

has been debunked time after time, yet the wingnuts still use it,

which is no surprise. Yeah, Carter's economy was so great that he

couldn't even win a second term. 1980 inflation rate--13.5%. 1980

UE rate--7.2%.

Curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid get.

The art of the whopper - Reality exposes the lie of the official unemployment rate

Telling lies with statistics is so easy even a politician can do it. An economist named Darrell Huff once wrote a best-seller about it, “How to Lie With Statistics.” Harry S. Truman identified three kinds of lies, “lies, damned lies, and statistics.” That was more than a half-century ago, and the art and science of prevarication have only been improved through frequent use.

President Obama won the “Lie of the Year Award” in 2013, given by the fact-checking team at the Tampa Bay Times (“if you like your health care plan you can keep it”), and he has taken an early lead this year with his claim that he has produced a “robust economy” with an unemployment rate that has fallen under 6 percent. In his State of the Union address last month, Mr. Obama said the jobless rate “is now lower than it was before the financial crisis” of 2007-2008. That’s a lie by statistic.

Mr. Obama’s claim of a robust jobless rate takes no account of the record 92.9 million Americans no longer in the labor force. The labor participation rate was 62.7 percent in December, a 38-year low that recalled the “economic malaise” of the Carter presidency.

*****************************************************

Obama started lying early on in his administration and kept it up all the way to the end. He was even worse than the Carter presidency.

My business is a pretty esoteric one that only thrives in a good economy, when people feel they have disposable income. The last 8 years were very good for my business; starting as a trickle a decade ago, with a very strong finish the past 3-4 years. I haven't had this much work since Bill Clinton was in the White House.

Location is important.

One might do very well in D.C., and not make a nickel in Camden, New Jersey.

Not that I doubt what you've reported. I just thought I'd make the point that favorable economic results are not equally dispersed everywhere.

I may live badly but at least I don't have to work to do it.

Don’t buy the lie that Obama’s leaving behind a healthy economy

Don't bother with news media at all, just look around and formulate your own opinion.

Don’t buy the lie that Obama’s leaving behind a healthy economy

The truth is that the Obama years have been among America’s worst for the economy. His eight years will go down in history as the Great Recession, even though for much, even most, of the span, we weren’t technically in a recession.

It just felt that way. And no wonder. Obama’s is the only modern presidency that failed to show a single year of growth above 3 percent, a point Trump stressed during the campaign (and that was conceded even by the website Politifact).

Plus, the Obama economy failed to prosper even though the Federal Reserve had its pedal to the metal. Its quantitative easing, $2 trillion balance-sheet expansion and zero-interest-rate policy all produced zilch.

Except for pumping up Wall Street and producing what Trump calls a “false economy.” The recent declines in the unemployment rate are due less to the uptick in employed persons than to an increasing number of persons leaving the labor force.

*******************************************************************

Obama golfed 333 days while the economy got worse and worse. People even stopped looking for work it was so bad but Obama counted them as employed of all things. Amazing.

Things are never so bad they can't be made worse.

Lie Number One is still Obama manipulated the UE stats. No he

didn't. They were derived in the same way as they have been for

a long time. Truth Number One is that wingnuts will believe just

about any lie that comes along.

3 Lies About Jobs and the Unemployment Rate

Lie No. 1: The government knows how many people are unemployed.

We don't know for certain how many people are employed because no one counts them. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the number of unemployed based on a random sampling of the population. In itself, this isn't a problem. Sampling is a well-established method of estimation when it is too time-consuming or expensive to count every single person.

Lie No. 2: More jobs always mean less unemployment.

Each month, more people join the working age population than retire or die. Consequently, the economy needs to add about 180,000 jobs a month just to keep up with population growth.

Lie No. 3: A lower unemployment rate means fewer unemployed people.

We think of people as being either employed or unemployed, but there is a third classification: nonemployed. If you don't have a job but are looking, you are unemployed. If you take a break from looking, perhaps because you keep coming up empty, you become a "discouraged worker" and classified as nonemployed. The "labor force" is the number of employed and unemployed people. The nonemployed people don't count.

*************************************************************

This is why the Obama years were so horrible, people kept dropping out of the workforce but he kept saying there were more jobs and everything was getting better. All because of the faked numbers.

Things are never so bad they can't be made worse.

Mulvaney is a political hack and, like his boss, a habitual liar.

There was no manipulation. He just did a Donny, make a

statement with no proof and hope no one checks it out.

And of course the wingnuts lap it up without a second

thought.  U6 was the rate that right wingers used when

Obama was president since it is higher than the "official"

UE rate. You won't hear much about U6 now that Trump

is president.

No Evidence Jobs Data was ‘Manipulated’

Budget Chief: Obama Was ‘Manipulating’ Unemployment Numbers

The director of the Office of Management and Budget on Sunday indicated that the Obama administration manipulated the monthly unemployment report in order to make the economy look healthier than it actually was.

“What you should really look at is the number of jobs created,” Mick Mulvaney said on CNN after a Friday report showed the economy generated 235,000 jobs in February.

“We’ve thought for a long time, I did, that the Obama administration was manipulating the numbers, in terms of the number of people in the workforce, to make the unemployment rate — that percentage rate — look smaller than it actually was,” he said.

Mulvaney said that a measure known a “U6” issued by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which includes unemployed Americans who have not sought work in up to a year, is a truer measure of unemployment. “U6” tends to run about five to seven points higher than the more widely quoted unemployment rate, which was 4.7 percent in February.

*******************************************************************

The number of unemployed people has always been much higher than Obama claimed. All they did was toss unemployed people out of the statistics as time passed so the numbers came down. We have at least 12% unemployment right now thanks to this.

Things are never so bad they can't be made worse.
