One of the first and most active participants of the Message Boards, “Kyle in Hollywood” (aka, hlywdkjk) demonstrated a depth of knowledge and largesse of spirit that made him one of the most popular and respected voices in these forums. This thread is a living memorial to his life and love of movies, which remain with us still.

I have seen most of these but it is so great to see them on an actual television set again. Also nice they aren't just doing the all-time favorites like The Cat Came Back, but also tackling the less famous like Norman McLaren's earliest efforts in Canada such as Mail Early.

"Aubry Mintz and Ellen Besen (creator of the short "Sea Dream" and authors of Animation Unleashed: 100 Principles Every Animator, Comic Book Writer, Filmmaker, Video Artist, and Game Developer Should Know and Ideas for the Animated Short: Finding and Building Stories) co-host a night of 30 animated short films produced by the National Film Board of Canada, which has a history of providing the world with a unique Canadian perspective through various means, famously including animation.

The NFB began to garner its reputation for outstanding animation in 1941, when pioneering experimental filmmaker Norman McLaren joined the organization. A French-language animation unit was founded in 1966 by Ren Jodoin.

This collection of animated classics is broken into four programming units.........
