Ate a peach in memory in Gregg Allman.  So many leaving us, and too soon.  I didn't own their music, but it was everywhere then, on the radio, TV, people's stereos.

I've never been fond of peach fuzz so I made a peach Jello and ate that.

"The Breaks" is a classic track. I also like "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel.

I know that there are not many (if any) people on this forum who would say they like hip hop, so posting this video probably won't convince them otherwise. But I feel that denying that the genre didn't have any sort of cultural impact would be foolish at least. So here is a personal favorite of mine from that much maligned genre.

Here's one of my favorite funk songs featuring the talented Miss Chaka Khan.

By a strange coincidence, the headline in the local newspaper

had the word Allman in it. When I spread it out it said Allman

Honored, Allman being a local teacher. R.I.P. Gregg.

Being from Jersey, I like the line about 10 million pounds of

sludge from New York and New Jersey. Sounds about

right. Rock me, Joey. :)

Very saddened by the news of Chris Cornell's sudden death. He was one of the great voices in heavy rock and helped define the 90's sound.

I was reading Carole Bayer Sager's memoir and hadn't realized she'd co-written this song.  Her writing partner, Toni Wise, had taken a chunk of the melody from Muzio Clementi's "Sonatina Opus 36, Number 5."  Fortunately for them, the composer was long dead and didn't ask for any rights.  CBS wrote that one day she came home to find a $34,000 royalty check for it--not bad for 1966!

I'm a melancholy man. That's what I am.

Hmm, it says the video contains material from Eagle Rock and can't be played in "your" country.  Weird.  Maybe I can find it on YouTube.  We Americans don't like to be told "no!" ;)
