Tinypic allows for some re-sizing.

Just above the UPLOAD NOW button, click on the RESIZE box choices.

If you have Microsoft Office Picture Maker, there is an option for "Edit Pictures." If you open that, one of the options is "Resize." You can then choose to resize the picture by choosing what percent of the original picture you'd like. Go over 100% to enlarge, and under 100% to shrink. You will see the dimensions of the picture change accordingly as you change the percent.

I use the Paint program which is included in most, if not all, Windows systems. This allows resizing to custom dimensions rather than offering only preset sizes to fit your posting needs. Some image hosting sites offer resizing options but may limit you to (their) presets.

I'll be glad to help you with Paint if you have it and wanna give it a go.

Let me give that a try this evening.  Thanks for the help.

How do we resize an image?

I was looking for a certain photo thread - I thought it was in Stickies, but can't find it.

This thread looks like it has gaps in it. ??

Thanks if anyone can help or direct me to instructions.

That looks like one of the last scenes in the Fox TV-show version of LAURA.

Possibly.

Was the .gif animated? Because I have been trying to post one and it always freezes and moves and doesn't flow.

I am having trouble posting .gif files on here, as well as at the Classic Film Union.

Thanks Patful.. I actually already saw that, so that is how I got this far, ha.  I can attach a picture from my computer.. but I can't seem to link anything from my photobucket. I don't like the "thumbnail sketch" so that is why I am trying to get the other to work. I am still trying to figure it out.. It COULD be a message board bug.. ha.. but I also freely admit it MIGHT just be "me being me" ha. (if my past history with new technology is any sort of good indicator) :D

Hey.. maybe I'll be able to solve it someday before the NEXT big upgrade. HA!! :D   (but I wouldn't place any bets on that... again.. if my past history is any indication, ha)

Thanks again.. Wish me luck. (ps.. happy to see your name popping back up here, sir)
