Thanks, Azure.

One of the most talked about parties in Hollywood was given by this star, who took over a restaurant on Sunset Boulevard and had the front of it converted into the semblance of a luxury liner.  Arriving guests walked up a gangplank to be greeted and given the official maritime salute by the star, who was dressed as an admiral.  They then descended down a slide to join the party.

Name the star who gave this party.

Mrs. Leslie Carter appeared in Becky Sharp, which starred Miriam Hopkins.  Miriam Hopkins played her 5 years later in Lady with Red Hair.

Correct on all counts.  Excellent job, Star!  Your turn.

Thanks, Lavender.

Next:  In the 1930s, a stage actress, who was very popular in her day, had an uncredited role in a fairly well known film.  The film starred an actress who was quite popular at that time.  Five years later, the film actress who starred in the 1930s film portrayed the stage actress in a biopic.

Please name the stage actress, the film actress, the 1930s film that they both appeared in and the biopic that was made 5 years later.

That's an excellent guess and I'm sure any actor would have felt that way about Rita. I'm thinking of another film. This was a crime film and the actor played a gangster.

Thanks star.

During the filming of a riot scene, the director was throwing smoke bombs to rile up the actors.  One of the smoke bombs struck an actor and he had to be restrained to keep him from punching the director.

Name the movie, the actor, and the director who didn't get beaten up.

The film was Fury, the actor was Bruce Cabot and the director was Fritz Lang???

That was a great wild guess, KarmaGirl!  Brian Aherne was married to Joan Fontaine for almost 6 years.  They would both marry again in less than a year after their divorce.

Your thread.

Wild guess--Olivia de Havilland was in The Great Garrick with Brian Aherne who married Joan Fontaine.

Early in her career, this actress co-starred in a movie with an actor who, a couple of years later, would become her brother-in-law – for a time anyway.

Name the actress, actor and the movie.

Sounds like that could be Debbie Reynolds in The Catered Affair in which her parents were played with by Bette Davis and Ernest Borgnine.  I remember reading that the director of the movie wasn't very nice to her at all.

Yes, The Catered Affair and the actress was Debbie Reynolds. The director was Richard Brooks. According to Debbie, Richard Brooks yelled at her and slapped her in front of the cast and crew. Your thread Star.

This actress is not the star of the film, although her role very important in the film. She plays the daughter of the 2 stars of the film

Fernando Lamas, Dangerous When Wet ??

You got it!  Good job, Lavender.  It's even more ironic that Lamas and Williams eventually married each other!

Your turn, Lavender.
