Each man commands some troops, and each set of troops suspicious of other.

The brother-in-law cold-bloodedly kills the son of a common enemy, thereby provoking an attack from the enemy.

The two men remain on opposite sides of an ongoing struggle, although at present are ostensibly in league.

The woman at first doesn't realize her brother-in-law covets her, and his restraining her from leaving she assumes is from some sense of family obligation.

She finally escapes at night hiding in the back of a vehicle. However, she is soon discovered and is forced to return.
