3 sentences? No big deal. This counts.

Maybe so ... but you'd better hope they don't make a new rule --- to count as a post, it must contain at least three sentences, compounded retroactively. Let's see, that should reduce your post count to about 26.

;)

All that biking really cuts into my computer time, so to compensate, I have to post like I'm double-parked. Twenty posts in a half-hour is child's play.

He put two sentences together and they actually "said" something??

All that stationery pedaling must be having a loquaciousness effect.

DownGoesFrazier can say more in two sentences than many can in six paragraphs.

That's talent.

It is extremely likely just a rolling 24 hour number, not "today" only.

You can't really have a top poster for today when it is 5 in the morning unless it was all reset at zero at midnight. Since a top poster claims he has not been a top poster today then it has to be based on 24 hours.

Is this confusing enough, lol.

..unless someone is a night owl and posts like a demon while the rest of us are racking zzzzzzzs.

Presently I am the number 3 poster with 17 posts...but I have not made that many posts yet today. So I don't think it updates daily. Probably another one of those website features that are part of the design, but comes with a few glitches.

It's more like....five minutes longer than 10 years ago. I factor that into my occasional half day or all day marathon at the multiplex, as I sneak into three or four films.

OMG! I couldnt sit and watch 3 or 4 films back to back. You get your moneys worth at least!

The good old days, right...? :)  Well, it's interesting if nothing else. And when TCM upgrades the boards again in the future, there will probably be newer features.

Right. And a lot of the people who have 20 posts (or more) per day are just generating one or two-word posts. Like 'yes' or 'LOL'...that kind of stuff. So the number of posts is not at all going to be related to how substantial or informatively the posts may be written.

We should be clear that a prolific poster can still be a top poster, generating substantial content.

I think people who post often on the games & trivia board tend to have much shorter posts over there.

Now, on the IMDb, when you submit a review, the website rejects it if it is not a certain length (though someone can copy and paste a bunch of gobbledygook to reach the required word count). Don't you just love the word gobbledygook...!

A bit OT here, but until a few years ago imdb reviews were called comments. That's why you'll find so many so called imdb reviews that are "pithy" to be kind.

Yes...and I don't think these features, or this data, was available on the previous version of the message boards. I don't remember seeing it before.

Why did you let me off the hook?   Note that I said in reply to your 5 minute film post:  And have as much substance as your post.

Does that mean you're a fan of mine?

But really,  you left yourself wide open with that post.   I believe if I had done the same you would have made a similar comment.

Because I've had very limited time lately. I've been given the job of putting together playlists for spinning classes, even though I'm not the instructor.
