First Steve Bannon made the cover of Time
Then SNL skit had him throne power from behind
But for Trump what was worst
In book jacket, Bannon billed first
Our primadonna leader coming in second can't abide.

Steve Bannon's been fired....or quit, I don't care
The point is one less racist still in White House lair
Gorka deserves to be next
And Miller can't pass the test
Only problem is that Trump will still be in there.

Trump can't help himself from tweeting his madness
Or to run at the mouth, so they limit public address
But he manages some way
Unhinged views gets to say
Straitjacket the guy, with no phone or press access

Donald Trump once again Lilly livered
Took it back like the term "Indian Giver"
He didn't mean to condemn
Neither Nazis nor Klansmen
Trump can't lose hate base that election delivered.

Donald Trump condoned Alt Right hate
Wouldn't single out, lumped with others to berate
White Supremacists and the Klan
And Neo Nazis had a plan
And Trump slapped their wrists.....too little too late.

Donald Trump is as one with white supremacist slugs
They love and support him and he gives them symbolic hug
They've been emboldened for sure
March with weapons galore
And our Chief fails to condemn deplorable thugs.

Jeff Sessions a homophobe and racist
As AJ prejudice will persist
Par for the Trump White House
For Hate some staffers espouse
No Justice for any groups on the list.

Bannon is White House White Supremacist Supreme
And that skullheaded Miller is part of that scene
They got the ear of the Donald
Whose speech on hate late and hollow
From the White House these racists should be cleaned.

Trump surrounded by racists in his core
His campaign brought this message to the fore
Speaks of Trump's moral rot
Though his apologists say not
Trump gives wings to hate groups more and more.

Donald Trump shooting off on all sides
Tweeting madly, though often they're lies
But when it comes to racist base
Has been shamed to save face
Deplorable ......days to decry despicable ties.

Trump just won't commit;

Says instead "From many sides";

Wants to keep his base.

Trump's rhetoric emboldened White Nationalists during campaign
The Alt Right became a big part of his margin to win
Now when these thugs start a fight
The president's pronouncement was trite
Compared to others he couldn't even say who's to blame

Donald Trump keeps finding ways to look worse
POTUS with anti-semites and racists converse
Can't denounce their policy of hate
Lest it seals his reelection's fate
Trump and supporters this democracy have cursed.

Donald Trump can't be bothered with daily intel briefings
Can only digest info if it's as brief as his tweeting
Refuses to play the pol game
Though the world is aflame
But devours daily dossier with praise on him heaping

Donald Trump been threatening Kim Jong-un
Now is lying that "Iran is in violation"
But from him nary a word
Against Putin is heard
Thanks Putin instead for his retaliation.

Donald Trump trying to show us his strength
Beating the war drums again and again
But the guy can't be serious
Wag the dog has made him delirious
Venezuela, Iran, North Korea...who's next?

Donald Trump called the governor of Guam
Trump told him "You'll be famous, you are the One"
Does Trump know what he's saying?
As his tweets have all of us praying
Making it more likely Guam gets hit by nuclear bomb.

Trump brags he receives tweets praising him
Sound benign compared to those Trump does on a whim
From the "Fire and Fury"
To "Lock and Load", recent flurry
Which madman will be left feeling boxed-in?

Thank you sir for the kind words. I have apologized half-heartedly here for hijacking this thread from George Brent, for a much bigger ****. He keeps supplying things that inspire me here, appalling though they may be. Thanks again.

No, I (we) thank you!

Keep Letting the creative juices flow....  for as long as they can!

One day (soon, lord willing), we will all have to look elsewhere for our source of sardonic humor (or humour)  -- heh, heh, let's see if Dargo pays attention to this thread. ;)

I was wondering how a thread started going on 4 years ago about George Brent's Derry Air could still be generating enough interest to keep popping-up.

Curiosity finally got the best of me, and I took a look. Glad that I did.

Don't know how it happened (I haven't read back far enough, yet) but somehow this thread has been hijacked by the subject of Donald Trump. One would think that he'd be thrilled with all the attention he's getting.

I think that we should nominate Arturo for the post of Magnus Poet Laureate
I am literally amazed at the prolificity of these little limericks.

I'm being serious when I say, they need to be published, or at least be made available in a forum (or forums) to a much larger audience.
These little timely gems should not be hoarded by us on this thread, or restricted to these boards.
They need to be shared with the rest of a "thinking" America and the world. ;)

Thank you sir for the kind words. I have apologized half-heartedly here for hijacking this thread from George Brent, for a much bigger ****. He keeps supplying things that inspire me here, appalling though they may be. Thanks again.

haiku is good.

But I prefer the simple lyrical rhyming of limericks.

And as someone posted in another thread, they are as short as a "tweet" so even devoted Trump followers would be able to read and appreciate them.

But a taste for haiku, like Sake, may grow on us with a little more exposure, so have at 'em, Sepia :)

Let's try haiku !

"Poor president Trump;

Doesn't know what he's doing;

On the job he trains."
