Donald Trump can't be bothered with daily intel briefings
Can only digest info if it's as brief as his tweeting
Refuses to play the pol game
Though the world is aflame
But devours daily dossier with praise on him heaping

Donald Trump been threatening Kim Jong-un
Now is lying that "Iran is in violation"
But from him nary a word
Against Putin is heard
Thanks Putin instead for his retaliation.

Donald Trump trying to show us his strength
Beating the war drums again and again
But the guy can't be serious
Wag the dog has made him delirious
Venezuela, Iran, North Korea...who's next?

Donald Trump called the governor of Guam
Trump told him "You'll be famous, you are the One"
Does Trump know what he's saying?
As his tweets have all of us praying
Making it more likely Guam gets hit by nuclear bomb.

Trump brags he receives tweets praising him
Sound benign compared to those Trump does on a whim
From the "Fire and Fury"
To "Lock and Load", recent flurry
Which madman will be left feeling boxed-in?

Thank you sir for the kind words. I have apologized half-heartedly here for hijacking this thread from George Brent, for a much bigger ****. He keeps supplying things that inspire me here, appalling though they may be. Thanks again.

No, I (we) thank you!

Keep Letting the creative juices flow....  for as long as they can!

One day (soon, lord willing), we will all have to look elsewhere for our source of sardonic humor (or humour)  -- heh, heh, let's see if Dargo pays attention to this thread. ;)

I was wondering how a thread started going on 4 years ago about George Brent's Derry Air could still be generating enough interest to keep popping-up.

Curiosity finally got the best of me, and I took a look. Glad that I did.

Don't know how it happened (I haven't read back far enough, yet) but somehow this thread has been hijacked by the subject of Donald Trump. One would think that he'd be thrilled with all the attention he's getting.

I think that we should nominate Arturo for the post of Magnus Poet Laureate
I am literally amazed at the prolificity of these little limericks.

I'm being serious when I say, they need to be published, or at least be made available in a forum (or forums) to a much larger audience.
These little timely gems should not be hoarded by us on this thread, or restricted to these boards.
They need to be shared with the rest of a "thinking" America and the world. ;)

haiku is good.

But I prefer the simple lyrical rhyming of limericks.

And as someone posted in another thread, they are as short as a "tweet" so even devoted Trump followers would be able to read and appreciate them.

But a taste for haiku, like Sake, may grow on us with a little more exposure, so have at 'em, Sepia :)

Let's try haiku !

"Poor president Trump;

Doesn't know what he's doing;

On the job he trains."

I started out with NOTHING...and still have most of it left!

General Kelly been trying to rein in Donald Trump
Failing to make Trump look less like a chump
"White House a Dump" so he shrugs
"New Hampshire cesspool of drugs"
Time to get rid of Chump Trump from that "Dump"!

Say that 3x fast!!! :D

Actually the thread is much older than that. It started as George Brent's Rear End on the old boards. But the powers that be wouldnt bring the thread over here, so MorrisSteele started another one. So it's probably about 8 years or so total. We lost some great limericks and rear ends shots on that one. :( I think George would be pleased the focus is now on the BIGGER A-S-S!

I second that thought! In today's market, you could easily compile them, write up a quick preface, and e-publish using Amazon or some other site.

Donald Trump on vacation again
Yet ratchets tensions with another madman
"The world has never seen"
"We'll make sure that we win"
Words from our fool gets a bullseye on Guam.

"Fire and Fury" our Nutjob-in-Chief did pronounce
As he again shows Presidential he hasn't an ounce
He has just upped the ante
"Cross red line" he's demanding
Another nutcase might feel the compulsion to pounce

The madman sable-rattling again
Despite his staff trying to soften with spin
North Korea's got one
But Trump wants to be number one
We lose as "Most Crazy" each hoping to win

Trump decides to speak to West Virginia base by heck
"No Russians here" as he riles up the dreck
Deflects with "Hillary's the one!"
"Bring those emails out in the sun"
But "Fake News""Witch Hunt" is breathing down his neck.

Newsworthy transcripts of Trump phone calls just leaked
With Mexican and Aussie leaders loses cool as he speaks
"Say you'll pay for the Wall"
"Can't take refugees at all"
"Promises broken my fans will see me as weak!"
