Monthly updates from my project are posted.  Things have been busy for me lately, but I still managed to get this done.  Also the last of the data for 1997 is in.  One more complete year of old schedules accounted for.

Here is my usual take on the premieres:

http://moviecollecto...e_Premieres.htm

Here is a new report showing just the movies, but listed in order of last showing.  Top of list is stuff that hasn't been shown in a long time, bottom is most recent stuff added to the schedule.  It probably doesn't serve much practical value for quick reference purposes, but may still be interesting for some:

The Ultimate Warrior and Curse of the Werewolf are both premieres? I recommend both of them as solid B-movie examples of their respective genres.

I have The Ultimate Warrior on a 2-film DVD set that also features Battle Beneath the Earth which was pulled from the schedule.

While reading up on Doc Savage today I discovered that there is a somewhat noteworthy 'fan edit' of the 1975 movie (the "Detarnished" version) that addresses some of the camp nature of the film:

https://durnmoosemov...tarnished-2011/

Too bad this version can't be shown on TCM for comparison purposes.

They might be out there if you look.  Not a fan myself of fan edits, but this one could be interesting.  The original I have seen too.  It was "ok" I thought when I saw it on a Sat morning back in the late 70s or early 80s.  I'll be recording this one.

I enjoyed the cheeseball Doc Savage movie back in the 70's, but when I tried rewatching it about 20 years later, it was a chore. I may check it out again to see what I think now.

I read a few of the books many moons ago and liked them. Hollywood keeps threatening to make a new big-budget movie. First it was going to be Schwarzenegger back in the early 90's, then Vin Diesel, and in the last few years I heard the Rock wanted to make it. <_<

And Saturday Evening there are the TCM Underground premieres of After Hours (1985) and Who's That Girl? (1987).

And if you've never seen After Hours (although we're assuming most here have), yes, Martin Scorsese can do comedy.  Rather frighteningly well.

And I emphasize that--If you've always wondered what critics ever meant by a "nightmare comedy"...

Just a quick notice for those who are interested, there are 2 westerns premiering on TCM on Saturday afternoon:

 - Canyon River (1956) george montgomery, peter graves

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049051/

 - Ride in the Whirlwind (1966) jack nicholson, cameron mitchell

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059653/

And Saturday Evening there are the TCM Underground premieres of After Hours (1985) and Who's That Girl? (1987).

These last 2 films were discussed quite a bit in the "Now I am afraid for TCM" message thread.
