Kyle Kersten was a true friend of TCM. One of the first and most active participants of the Message Boards, “Kyle in Hollywood” (aka, hlywdkjk) demonstrated a depth of knowledge and largesse of spirit that made him one of the most popular and respected voices in these forums. This thread is a living memorial to his life and love of movies, which remain with us still.

It's been a few years since I've seen this one. The last time I saw this was the first time I saw this and I wasn't really expecting much as it was later in Bogie's career and, what I thought was, an awkward match-up with June Allyson.

Actually, I was surprised.. I liked this film. One reason, I suppose, is I kept making comparisons to MASH - the TV series and the movie. The combo of Bogie and June didn't play out as awkward as I had expected, either - that was a nice surprise.

Bogie still had it in him right up to the end, though some of his last films didn't take full advantage.
