The films of 1935 mentioned on this thread that I have yet to see:

Escape Ne Never

Harmony Lane

La Kermesse Heroique (Carnival in Flanders)

Dr. Socrates

Black Sheep

Enchanted April

Splendor

If You Could Only Cook

No More Ladies

1935 films that  are vague memories:

Private Worlds

Becky Sharp

Roberta

Littlest Rebel

Ah Wilderness

Dangerous

Barbary Coast

Black Fury

Kind Lady

Goin' to Town

Special Mention: Actor of the Year

Charles Laughton

This is a different category from Best Actor, in my opinion, since that is just dealing with a single performance. In the case of Laughton, though, his three 1935 films and performances were all so remarkable that I think he deserves this special accolade.

Not only was it a year in which he gave, in my opinion, two of the year's strongest dramatic performances in Mutiny on the Bounty and Les Miserables, but he also demonstrated his range even further by his delightful comedy turn in Ruggles of Red Gap.

Laughton had the best run of films in his career throughout the 1930s, but 1935 stands out, in my opinion, as a particularly memorable year for this English acting giant.

Here are the films from 1935 that were mentioned that I have not seen as yet.  Not quite as bad as previous years.

Ah, Wilderness with Spring Byington

Becky Sharp with Miriam Hopkins

Black Fury with Paul Muni

Black Sheep with Claire Trevor

Crime and Punishment with Peter Lorre, Edward Arnold and Mrs. Patrick Campbell

The Devil Is a Woman with Marlene Dietrich and Cesar Romero

Dr. Socrates with Paul Muni

The Good Fairy with Margaret Sullavan

Harmony Lane with Douglass Montgomery and Evelyn Venable

No More Ladies with Joan Crawford and Robert Montgomery

Oil For the Lamps of China with Josephine Hutchinson and Jean Muir

Peter Ibbetson with Ann Harding

Roberta with Irene Dunne and Fred Astaire

Special Agent with Bette Davis and George Brent

And I would like to see these again …

Alice Adams for Ann Shoemaker, Hattie McDaniel and Fred Stone

The Dark Angel for Janet Beecher

The Lives of a Bengal Lancer for Guy Standing

Splendor for Billie Burke and Katherine Alexander

A Tale of Two Cities for Henry B. Walthall and Edna May Oliver

1) Edna May Oliver
2) Helen Broderick
3) Elsa Lanchester
4) Una O'Connor

P of T, maybe for 1936 you could attach the name of the film for your acting choices.  It will help us zero in on the particular performances in specific films.
