    I Just Watched...

I guess I should clarify that I was well aware of some of the themes in this film before I actually watched it. I could find myself sympathizing with the protagonist, Elisa, who is mute and overlooked a lot of the time. She connected with the fish-man and found a new friend-with-benefits of sorts (I'm gagging just typing that). I have no idea where along the road Guillermo Del Toro decided to make this film. To each his own, I guess. The only thing I liked about this, was the setting, and the overall aesthetic of it. The scenes at the lab were pleasing to the eye (or, at least, my eye); I've been into greens/aqua colors lately, so that's probably why some of this was so appealing to me. Also, Sally Hawkins was great as Elisa. Despite the strange material, and her character's strange choices (and none of her friends even batting an eye!), she was quite good.

Theme Songs That Fit A Movie or TV Show Perfectly

Some memorable TV themes I enjoyed in my formative years were: "The Avengers" and "Mission Impossible", as previously mentioned, plus "Mannix", "Barnaby Jones", and "The Wild, Wild West".

Correct. I figured if I mentioned one of the Ma and Pa Kettle films, it would be way too easy!

    I Just Watched...

I too loved watching "The Avengers" when it was on in the '60's. Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg were excellent as John Steed and Emma Peel. The weekly villains were really cold and sinister in some of their portrayals, and I really liked how the beginning of each episode took the viewer on an amusing path to find the note that said, "Mrs. Peel, we're needed". Along with "The Wild, Wild West", this show was a 'must-watch' for me as a kid.

    Robert Mueller submits Russia report

Retrumpicans have sold out their souls and any vestiges of integrity by supporting/keeping silent about this President's constant moral outrages. Bob Mueller has laid bare Trump's acts of obstruction of justice and we know that it would have been even worse if underlings of the President had carried out many of his screaming demands. Yeh, watch those Retrumplicans squirm as they try to please the base, fully knowing they are sellouts to any sense of morality. History will be very harsh on this cowardly crowd.

    Deanna Durbin

Reading the letter that Deanna wrote to a fan in the 1990s, I have to ask what she was referring to when she mentioned SPRING PARADE. Was that film lost for awhile? Was it something that had never aired on television?

  22. Victor Young's lovely, lyrical score for SHANE brings images for me of wide open vistas and rugged mountain peaks in the distance. The sensitivity found in this western is magnificently reflected by Young's strings accompaniment.

    Robert Mueller submits Russia report

Congress should get the full unredacted report, Twump's tax returns, etc., etc., subpoena and investigate, investigate, investigate, and then impeach Twump. Make the findings as much a part of the daily news cycle as possible for the next 20 months. Then spend the rest of the time leading up to the 2020 campaign making Republican Senators defend their discoveries about Twump. I'd watch them squirm, lol.
