    Iran tensions escalate

How is attacking Iran promoting America first???? It isn't. But it is promoting Israel's interest over American interest. (and in this case also backing the fundamentalist Islamic government of Saudi Arabia, who were very upset about Bibi's comments on talking over the West Bank) . Trump is being a major jerk here; even Ham, who LOVES the guy, can see that.

    Justice in America?

@washingtonpost Purdue Pharma, drugmaker accused of fueling the opioid epidemic, files for bankruptcy ================================= NY AG James @NewYorkStateAG · 4h It's no shock that Purdue Pharma’s bankruptcy filing comes 48 hours after my office exposed ~$1 billion in wire transfers involving Swiss bank accounts. NY opposes this deal & we will not be deterred in our lawsuit to hold the Sackler family responsible for the opioid crisis.

    Iran tensions escalate

Trump Is Cornered by the Saudi Drone Attacks The president’s inconsistency on Iran and his ties to the Saudis don’t bode well for how he will handle a monumental foreign policy challenge. "......What probably hasn’t been lost on Iran is that Trump has postured and blustered about his willingness to use military force to corral countries he considers hostile to the U.S., but then fails to follow through. In June, Trump ordered a military strike on Iran, only to call it off at the last minute. This isn’t new behavior from the president. He spent parts of his business life threatening to vanquish competitors or run circles around them when he was “artofthedealmaking,” only to find himself outmaneuvered or unable to deliver on his warnings (often to his own financial and reputational detriment)........ one of the most harrowing aspects of Trump’s presidency — that an inexperienced self-promoter utterly ignorant about much of the world and lacking any real interest in international affairs had assumed power over the mightiest military force on the planet — is now in full relief in the wake of the drone strikes in Saudi Arabia. Character is at play here, too. There’s a presidential election coming and with it the danger that Trump will find military confrontations overseas useful avenues for a political boost. That would suggest he may not be making completely sober-minded decisions. ........ https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-09-16/donald-trump-is-boxed-in-by-saudi-drone-attacks?srnd=opinion

Sorry Nip, but you got this wrong. Under Obama, the US and other countries got Iran to abide by doing nothing to advance their nuclear program. They continued to comply with it, the US regularly certified this to be so. Donald Trump decided he didn’t like it, because of Obama being involved, and the insecure Orange Fool unilaterally walked away from it. Last week there were reports that he was trying to go back to it. Donald Trump does not know what he is doing, and has only made the planet infinitely more dangerous by his ignorance, petulance and stupidity.

    SCOTUS battles

Justice Sotomayor warns the Supreme Court is doing “extraordinary” favors for Trump The Trump administration thinks the court is its personal fixer. The court isn’t doing much to disabuse it of this idea. .....a “stay pending appeal” is an order that suspends a lower court’s decision while the case is working its way through an appeals court. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court granted such a stay of a lower court order that blocked a Trump administration policy preventing most Central American migrants from seeking asylum. As Sotomayor notes, the Supreme Court rarely granted such stays in the past, and for good reason. Because the Supreme Court is the final word on any legal dispute, it typically likes to hang back for a while as lower court judges wrestle with new legal questions...... Trump’s Justice Department has been far more aggressive than its predecessors in asking the Court to intervene at early stages of litigation. “To take one especially eye-opening statistic,” Vladeck writes, “in less than three years, the Solicitor General has filed at least 20 applications for stays in the Supreme Court (including 10 during the October 2018 Term alone).” By contrast, “during the 16 years of the George W. Bush and Obama Administrations, the Solicitor General filed a total of eight such applications — averaging one every other Term.” The Trump administration, in other words, is behaving as if the Court is its personal concierge service — https://www.vox.com/2019/9/12/20862320/sotomayor-supreme-court-favors-trump

if I'm gonna be sold out I'd rather be sold out by an American. the world and's it's denizens are imperfect. trump will prevent a nuclear iran with the help of Netanyahu.
