You left out Genesis II, where she plays Lyra-a, the girl with two bellybuttons. Well, okay, it was a TV movie, but how can you overlook two bellybuttons? ;) :D

To add another comment on to what I posted to Arturo, for folks reading this:

Next week I will be featuring Tom Pittman in this thread. He is a perfect example of a mostly-forgotten performer. He has 37 credits in just three years (more than half are television credits). He was another one in the James Dean mold-- he even owned a Porsche like Dean and died a similar high-speed death. Most critics and fans at the time felt he would've had a long and substantial motion picture career.

It is those kinds of performers, as well as the Cary Grants and Marilyn Monroes, that we want people to re-discover. Hopefully this thread can lead folks in that direction and inspire independent research and the viewing of these performers' films on TCM and in other venues.

This thread has evolved, Arturo. I found that when I left out the more-played titles, I had folks asking me why I had omitted their favorite film with so-and-so. So as not to slight a fan of a particular performer, I have been including all major releases in which a performer is at least fourth-billed or higher.

Also, when I started, I was including the character actors (who mostly, though with rare exceptions, are lower than fourth-billed in their pictures). Since the creation of the character actors thread, I have not included them to prevent redundancy.

The intent is to spotlight performers and celebrate their achievements. That part of the mission has not changed and will not change.

Going back to title of the thread, I do want to see all of these classic artists and their classic films played as frequently as possible, not just when they die or when they are honored in August or on their birthdays.

I'm confused about the intent of this thread. I remember you initially stated you wanted to shed light on movies that are not available or are never broadcast. Yet just on the first page alone (meaning the most recent), many of the titles of Dennis Morgan's and Gloria Grahame's filmography are regularly shown on TCM, along with some of the relatively smaller number of movies with John Gavin; likewise Michael Rennie and Louise Hovick-many of these titles turn up on FMC. Shouldn't these titles be excluded from your lists, as per your original post?

Dennis Morgan and Richard Long certainly could have been cast as brothers. If they had worked at the same studio that likely would have happened. Long was at Universal mostly, and Morgan bounced around a bit and had contracts with several studios but Universal was not one of them.

Originally, I had considered posting this photo, but he's standing and it's not as intimate as the one I chose where he is leaning into the camera:

THE RETURN OF DOCTOR X was one of Morgan's B-pictures when he first started at Warners. He is fourth-billed. Bogart, who is third-billed, hated it and did not like discussing it.

One of Morgan's B-pics which I think is very good is TEAR GAS SQUAD. He and John Payne play singing policemen. It's corny as they come, but hearing them sing together is truly a pleasure.

That pic of Dennis Morgan is the first time I've ever thought to myself that he looks a little like Richard Long. Maybe it's just that photo (or me).

When I saw THE RETURN OF DOCTOR X on the list, I first worried that it was a sequel to the tedious DOCTOR X TCM ran recently. Then I looked it up and saw it was worse...
