I have a young child who just turned five. He has a variety of interests but has always been very reluctant to make any drawings. The other night he watched the last part of the Chuck Jones documentary with me. Afterwords he suddenly asked for paper and and a pencil and produced a series of lovely drawings on different subjects. Of course, graphically they are about what you would expect from a five year old but I thought they were very creative. I was very appreciative that this film was able to inspire this burst of creativity in my son. He also spoke enthusiastically of wanting to add drawing to his other future career activities. It is a wonderful documentary. I'd like to thank TCM for showing it. It would be nice if it would come on again as I didn't get to see all of it. I hope other kids have a chance to see it as well.
