    Ian Patrick's Movie Reviews/Recommendations

"Indestructible Man" is a silly 70 minute long horror/sci-fi/noir flick that is good if you want a quick movie to watch on a late week day night. I would not recommend this for a Friday or Saturday night because I don't want to ruin one of your weekend nights! Feels good to be back doing a horror review! Let me know what you thought of the movie and be sure to subscribe!

"The Buccaneer" 1958 Video Movie Review - War of 1812 Flick!

Personally, for an adventure movie, I want it to feel like I'm on an adventure and not on a set. Especially if it is a movie that is at sea..."Plymouth Adventure" at least had some good scenes of real ships sailing on the ocean...also, I don't think "Plymouth Adventure" is a great adventure movie either. The most memorable for me, at least, are ones like "Mutiny on the Bounty," "Captain Blood," or "King Solomon's Mines." Basically, a movie that takes place on location in a lot of scenes. I love plenty of movies with that "play" or "set" feeling, but when it comes to an adventure flick, I don't enjoy it as much. I didn't mention her because I didn't really have anything to say about her...I suppose I could have briefly mentioned her name when I said who was in the movie, but I already said like 4.

This was a fun movie about Jean Lafitte, the privateer, who helped the Americans beat the British during the War of 1812. Sadly, it is a bit forgettable, but the great actors in this movie saved it from being a total bust!

"The Shopworn Angel" 1938 Video Movie Review - 4 Star Movie

I agree with James about Stewart...he definitely felt manlier in his later movies after WWII. He feels like a completely different actor when looking at young Jimmy Stewart and old Jimmy Stewart. Thank God he returned to acting...otherwise we wouldn't have had "Vertigo" <3

This is my favorite version of "Little Women!" It has such a wonderful Christmas feel to it in the beginning. It's a great flick to watch while drinking hot coco and curling up on the couch :3 Merry Christmas, everyone! This is going to be my last Christmas review for the year! I hope you all have a blessed Christmas Eve and Christmas day with your families!

Thank you for checking out my reviews! "I'll Be Seeing You" and "Remember the Night" were the 2 best Christmas movies that I saw this year. If I had time to review "Remember the Night," I would have given that 4 Stars, too. It was a beautiful and perfect movie! I can't believe Christmas is in 2 days already! I wish it would snow where I was

"Scrooge" 1935 Video Movie Review - More Humbug!

Unfortunately, I did not get to the 1938 version of "A Christmas Carol." I know that one is supposed to be pretty good, too. But I guess...in a way I'm glad because it will be more fun to review it next Christmas!
  16. Tonight's Christmas classic is "Scrooge." This version of "A Christmas Carol" came out in 1935...I must say that I was not too fond of it...especially compared to the 1951 version. I go into a lot more detail in the review! Which "A Christmas Carol" movie is your favorite version? It can even be the Muppet version (I actually love this one)! I'd love to discuss it with anyone :3

LEAST & MOST FAVORITE of the week...

Thank you TopBilled! That's really nice of you to mention me! I wish I could have done a lot more Christmas reviews but to be honest, I reach my limit at about 6 ahaha it's kind of like how at Halloween, I just got a little burned out on the horror flicks. My next review that I will be posting tomorrow will be on "Christmas in Connecticut."

"Scrooge" 1935 Video Movie Review - More Humbug!

I have seen it on stage at least five times in my life lol! I love the story. In the video I explain that I do not recommend it because there are simply better, more enjoyable, versions of the film to watch...I go on to say though that if you're looking for a dreary and cold version of the story, then this one is for you. That being said, I wouldn't say I had a terrible time watching it...I just kept thinking about how much better other ones are. I say "do not recommend" because I hate reviewers that straight up say "don't watch this movie." It's like..."who are you to tell me not to watch it?" ya know?

  20. Definitely the best movie version of "A Christmas Carol." Alastair Sim gives it his all as Ebenezer Scrooge! This is a must watch for the Christmas season! I hope you all enjoyed my review, be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more reviews :3 I'll be reviewing two other film adaptations of "A Christmas Carol" so keep your eyes open for that!

"A Christmas Carol" 1951 Video Movie Review - Humbug!

ahaha I didn't even think about spoilers with this review. I feel like anyone searching for a review on the movie is already aware of the story. It's like me spoiling that the Titanic sank lol (common knowledge). Regarding the Ghost of Christmas yet to come...that's just how I feel personally. Growing up, I remember being scared of that ghost (as Scrooge is) and I wasn't scared of the ghost in this version. It's not a horror movie but it can still have some scares in it (it IS a movie with ghosts after all). That was pretty much my only complaint with the movie.

  25. I'm kicking off my first Christmas special with "The Bishop's Wife." It's a great movie to get us all in the Christmas spirit! My review is a bit long, but this movie has so many interesting stories behind it! Did you think Cary Grant was better suited to play the angel or the bishop? Christmas movies all month! Get out the eggnog :3
