Movies, movies, movies! I love all film from "The Great Train Robbery" to "The Reverant", Mary Pickford to Meryl Streep, von Stroheim to Scorsese. However my favorite period is the thirties and forties. From the classic Universal horror films of the early thirties to Howard Hawks "Red River" this is the time in movies I am most enamored. Favorite actresses: Judy Garland, Lucille Ball (which accounts for my screen name which also has an unfortunate connotatio,Sissy Spacek, Carole Lombard, Diane Keaton, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn and Myrna Loy. For the dudes: Bogart, Cary Grant, Karloff and Lugosi, Edward G. Robinson, Laurel and Hardy, Groucho and his bro's and W C Fields. Genres: Screwball comedy, film noir and any musical with Miss Gumm in it. I was here before and I am very, very happy to be back. I think this is the rebeginning of a beautiful friendship. Peace to all; I look forward to communicating with all who would like that. Bye for now

    100 years at the movies

Hello fellow film freaks. I love movies, the flickers, cinema, celluloid-whatever you wanna call 'em I love 'em. I have always wanted to do a systematic study of film but was stymied as to how I would do that without getting too preachy or dull. I decided to watch one movie from each year beginning in 1916. I stared a few weeks back. So far I have seen: 1916 "The Rink", 1917: "poor Little Rich Girl", 1918: "Eyes of the Mummy" gotta go will be back!

Basil, Basil, How I Love Basil!

Basil, what a handsome dude! I saw him in two of the Kay Francis movies on January 13 and thought pre-Sherlock he was one sexy guy.
