    "Ladybug, Ladybug"

It's a bird, or a plane, or Superman, or a defensive 'Nike' ground-to-air missile, but its also ambiguous as to whether it shows war or peace. One can also be skeptical of the alarm cancel explanation, remember that the early detection by radar of the attack on Pearl Harbor was tragically disregarded with "they must be our planes coming in". The movie dialog forces this ambiguity: "They found the trouble, some kind of short circuit. It's a false alarm!" "Of course it is." Of course it is. That could be the same attitude of everyone working to determine why the alarm went off. Must be a mistake. The movie is based on a true incident that occurred at Miraleste Elementary School in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

    Movies! TV Network

Yes I noticed censorship yesterday, a middle finger gesture was blurred. I don't know why over-the-air would be the reason for incorrect aspect ratio. The over-the-air stations here that broadcast correct aspect ratios: CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, CW, COZI, My TV, Me TV, Telemundo, GRIT. The over-the-air stations here that broadcast wrong aspect ratios: Movies!, TBN.

Then why is the picture vertically squished short and fat, and the black bars on the top and bottom are still there? Squishing vertically is the wrong way to eliminate the black bars. I know that broadcasters stretch the aspect ratio tall and skinny to fill the screen, but this network does the opposite of that. It makes no sense. I have contacted their feedback address but there's no reply.

Can anyone tell me why the MOVIES! TV Network broadcasts the wrong aspect ratio?

    The Third Man (1949)

Along comes Netflix and... Surprise! SUBS! This Netflix streaming version displays subtitles for all non-English speech including: German and Russian dialog, Latin funeral rites, the play that Anna appears in, and even for characters in the movie in the theater where Holly and Anna are hiding! And these subs can't be turned off, so it's an altered version of the movie - The Third Man Netflix Version.
