A Star Is Born (1937 version)

Well I just went to "Shopping" on the TCM taskbar and Typed in "A Star Is Born" and I got many Results for DVD's and VHS's For sale...THe DVD was on sale for $8.89 or something like that...just a thought. From the TCM dvds that I know the special Features are usually interviews and commentaries or a short film or two...also very good sound and visual Quality.

    George Gershwin

I was watching An American In Paris (1951) and noticed that in the credits it said "Lyrics By Ira Gershwin and Music by George Gershwin"...but I recalled that George Died During the making of Shall we dance (1937). Can someone Explain to me How George Gershwin Could have written the music for a movie nearly 15 years after his death?

    Favorite Music in a Musical

I must say My favorite song from a film would have to be They Can't Take That Away From Me from the musical Shall we dance (1937). This song was written by George and Ira Gershwin. I find it to be a very magical song...it is sad to know that George died before the movie was released, He did not survive to see his masterpeice be nominated to win an academy award for best song.

Is a movie you don't like a waste of time?

Well then why did you watch it? if it was a waste of money and poorly made? this is in response to FredCDobbs and Boys from Brazil Comment.

    pink panther

It always has angered me as to why people even remake olden day films...to me there really is no way to "recreate" the originals. although now days we may have better technology that does not mean in anyway that movies are better. This also proves that Hollywood is losing ideas.

    Just a question...

Thank you very much for the info. After watching the movie Tammy and the Bachelor, they played Tammy and the Millionaire which made me realize that this was indeed a series of movies. In the Credits it stated the film was derived from the novels by Cyd Ricketts Sumner.
