  1. Now that 31 Days of Oscar is over, I am wondering about the memorial tribute videos or programming plans. I know that because Robert Osbourne has been ill and there has been scheduling conflicts that everything is being done in a different way this year, but I am wondering: Is there a memorial tribute video for George Kennedy or anyone else up yet? I don't see any reference to the topic on the main TCM page. I don't go to youtube unless I have an actual link as I can get distracted by cat videos. Any word? I know TopBilled, Barton, and Jakeem seem to know about these topics before others do.
  2. Raiders of the Lost Ark cinematographer Douglas Slocombe has died at 103. Yes, we have lost another legend again. So sorry, Classic Movie Rankings, I know how much you loved his films. My favourite is Travels with My Aunt. I also loved Kind Hearts and Coronets, and The Man in the White Suit. http://www.imdb.com/news/ni59533790?pf_rd_m=A2FGELUUNOQJNL&pf_rd_p=1920909362&pf_rd_r=039KHQHBHJ1WSTSN3H3V&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_t=15061&pf_rd_i=homepage&ref_=hm_nw_tp1

  4. Daniel Gerson (1966-2016)

Sad news for fans of animated movies. MONSTERS INC screenwriter Daniel Gerson has died at the age of 49 (50?). He had brain cancer.
  5. Many of Susan Hayward's fans and admirers are disappointed that most of her films have been cancelled for this coming Monday, June 30th. I believe that TCM will now only be showing two. It was to be a celebration of her birthdate, and we look forward to this each year. I have total respect for Eli Wallach's career, but it seems like TCM could have chosen another day for his "memorial." Susan Hayward would have been 97 years old this coming June 30th. She was an incredible asset to the film industry, was nominated for an Oscar 5 times, and won for the last with "I Want To Live." As far as I know she has not ever even been given the Star of the Month treatment at TCM. I stand corrected if I am wrong, but I surely don't remember it. susanhaywardclassicfilmstar.com facebook.com/susanhaywardclassicfilmstar
