Remake High Noon?! That has to be some form of blasphamy! Without Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly... It would be ruined! I don't think it's a serious threat though. I can't find any information on it, thank goodness.

Just like the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, it will probably be quickly forgotten, while the original remains a very respected classic.

I just looked up the remake info on High Noon, and it is going to happen, for more info go to IMDB.com. I agree it also should get dropped, it is the the Godfather of westerns, to me it is the Citizen Kane of westerns, The Searchers always gets #1, but to me its High Noon, they already remade The Day the Earth Stood Still what next!

That's exactly how they'll make it I'm sure. Sad, I know. Hollywood is just obsessed with remaking films lately.It's very annoying. I wish they'd just leave them all alone.
Alot of them, thankfully, flop but some unfortunately do well.
This is a classic and no remake wil lever top it.

While I agree with you I am sure the producers thought of the recent success of "3:10 to Yuma" and thought "why not?" After all the primary group of movie goers are unlikely to have seen the original. They are likely to dress it up. Make the bad guys worse. Grace Kelly's part more sexy. Katy Jurado's part more sleazy and Cooper more conflicted. The shootout might be longer and bloodier. It will, of course, be longer.

I don't even count the TV remake.
No one can do it better than Coop and Grace. Anyone else in the role would be a lie.

This is one movie that would be ruined by a remake. I can not see anyome could do any better than Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly. With the advances in movies today with special effects it would ruin the movie. I like this movie for the story it told.
