Thanks, I click for "FireLight" movie. And I am sure thats it. A lot of the information , seems that I recall about it. Specially, about the opening of the window. And wife death. I am wondering if there is another version in black/white.Or did I dream it. I will send for Firelight with Sohie Marceau. Thank-you so much.

Give Me Your Heart, with Kay Francis is the closest movie to that I can think of:

http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/1006/Give-Me-Your-Heart/

It has an American sleeping with an English aristocrat with an inalid wife. She gives up her child to them. There the similarity ends.

It was on TV. Not a modern movie, I am sure it was black/ white. It started when the woman, was boarding a ship. So she travel by sea. Kind of a deary climate.

Your title says this movie is "about" a 40's era.

But is it a modern movie?

Is it in color?

Did you see it on TV or in a theater?

Is it a modern movie about a 40s era?

Its seems its a Enlish or other overseas movie. A weathy man hires a woman,to sleep with him. She will become pregent, and give birth to a girl. The agreement is that she will be paid and no other committements. His wife is an invalid, and can not give him a child. The woman tracks them down. She is hired to tudor the child (daughter). The girl is spoild and is hard to handle. The man and the woman , start a romantic envolvement. The wife has a mysteries death. The man loose his wealth and mansion. The end they (three of them) leaving the mansion. I saw this movie last year (2011) I could not find its listing.
