Well Mary Poppins is both live action films and animated. (as well as a must see for youngsters).

I would love it to be on a blue-ray, but sadly the live action films from the sixties don't have the clout that the animated ones do.

I haven't seen this film, since it was in theaters! I loved it so much. I wish Disney would treat its live action films with the same reverence it gives to its animated ones. There are so many deserving a proper Blu-ray release. This would be right at the top of my list.

The Three Lives of Thomasina is a landmark film in the life of a bratty oilfield boomer-child bounced from homestead to homestead, with my best friend, Smoky, the half-Russian Blue kitty who knew all my secret whispers in the dark nights of childhood after lights out. After seeing The Three Lives of Thomasina , I knew I wasn't the only little girl whose best friend never compliained and never let me down until the day she went to the large kitty heaven in the sky, just like it was revealed to me in the film. The life of the McDhui family allowed me to accept and embrace my inner appreciation of how pets can transform lives.

All the wonderful Scottish scenery (including the gorgeous Patrick
McGoohan) was merely froth on the complete cup of latte that this film
encompasses. Who wouldn't want such great little friends like Mary
McDhui (Karen Dotrice) had. Her kitty died, and they all had this
great, dramatic funeral with bagpipes, no less!

Laurie McGregor (Susan Hampshire) also had that great house in the
country where she would rescue the wounded, both animals and people.
And a delightful, happy ending. YAY!

I think every little kid growing up has one of those movies where you watch it over and over to the point where your parent just wanted to break it.

I watched this movie so much growing up, this was that movie fore me. I would get it from the public Lib, and watch it all the time. I simply loved everything about it.

Funny thing is I was just in the video store today and I was walking around and I caught the DVD out of the corner of my eye and I got this urge to watch it! However it was alreay out. Makes me happy to know that some other little kid (it was in the section which it right next to the classics. Where I was standing) was watching it now too.

The rain, the yellow flowers, cat heaven...I think when I got back Im going to check to see if its in or not.

This really is a must watch family film like no other!

I felt the same way. How great it would be to live in a cozy home in the woods and give
shelter to lovable creatures like that.

When I first saw this movie as a child, I was fascinated by Susan Hampshire's character "the witch in the glen" - and wanted to grow up to be just liker her!

I think the various domestic and wild creatures that are currently in and around my house would tend to agree that I've achieved my goal.... :)

My son loved for me to sing the "We are Siamese" song to him in his younger years.
Lady and the Tramp was a animated feature, but it had such an emotional
appeal. Just like The Three Lives of Thomasina.

TTLOT was one of my most favored childhood films. I enjoyed the score, hearing
the bagpipes, the home where Lori MacGregor (Susan Hampshire) tended to the
wounded animals. I realized at the tender age of 9 or 10 that Mary McDewey (sp?)
was one of those "wounded" that Lori MacGregor was soothing.

Also, it touched upon the topic of euthanasia, and I had been wondering about
how that worked about that time.
