Are you sure she didn't want to kill him, because in the Kevin Kline movie I Love You To Death (which is based on a real happening) She wanted the husband dead.

Thanks Vallo, but the movie I'm thinking of was more upbeat. It was more like a romantic melodrama with some comedy. The girl was supposed to poison her fiance just a little to teach him a lesson for being mean to her, and in the end he forgives her and they live happily ever after.

Does anyone remember the name of the women's flick from the 80s or 90s where the protagonist's grandmother teaches her how to bake her husband a special meal with arsenic to teach him a lesson, but accidentally puts him in the hospital by mistake?
