BABIES FOR SALE (1940) - Columbia Pictures (On TCM, April 30, 2013).
I thought this was a TCM premiere, and Robert Osborne in his introduction for it confirmed that it is.

Thurs., 4-18 under WELCOME TO THE PEARLY GATES:
8:00 PM
C- 129 min
TV-G musical
Carousel (1956)
A dramatic love story unfolds between a rough-talking, macho carousel barker, and a young, innocent mill worker.
Dir: Henry King Cast: Gordon MacRae , Shirley Jones , Cameron Mitchell .
MALTIN REVIEW:
D: Henry King. Gordon MacRae, Shirley Jones, Cameron Mitchell, Barbara Ruick, Claramae Turner, Robert Rounseville, Gene Lockhart.
"Excellent filmization of Rodgers & Hammerstein's memorable adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom, with MacRae as rowdy carousel barker Billy Bigelow, who tries to change for the better when he falls in love with Jones. Excitement of wide- screen location filming will be minimized on TV, but moving characters, timeless songs remain. Script by Phoebe and Henry Ephron. Filmed before as LILIOM in 1930 and 1934. CinemaScope 55."

(sorry for missing reminder for the great Etaix films last night. Was busy elsewhere. )
Tonight, 4-17 for Laurence Olivier
10:15 PM
86 min
TV-G comedy
Perfect Understanding (1933)
A young couple decide to marry under the condition that they agree... never to disagree.
Dir: Cyril Gardner Cast: Gloria Swanson , Laurence Olivier , John Halliday .
LEONARD MALTIN REVIEW:
D: Cyril Gardner. Gloria Swanson, Laurence Olivier, John Halliday, Nigel Playfair, Michael Farmer, Genevieve Tobin, Nora Swinburne, Miles Malleson.
"Swanson and Olivier make a marriage pact "never to be husband and wife but lover and mistress,'' but of course things don't go that smoothly. Romantic comedy trifle is filled with clever transition shots and montages. Swanson (who produced the film) also gets to sing. Interesting to see these two stars at this point in their respective careers."

It seemed that TCM was supposed to air the silent version of "Blackmail"; even Ben said so in the introduction; and it was "Silent Sunday Night" after all. And yet, the sound version was shown, a mistake, surely. If the silent version had been shown, then you would've been right about this being a TCM premiere.

I remember seeing it before also, but don't remember which (silent/talkie) version it was.
Never quite sure of accuracy from the NPG.
correction: it must have been this version...the actress' high, weird dubbed voice was rather memorable

"Blackmail" has been shown before on TCM, hasn't it? I even recorded it when it last aired -- in 2009, I believe.

Tonight 4-7, under Masters of Suspense
12:00 AM 82 min
TV-PG suspense
Blackmail (1929)
A shopkeeper's daughter fights off blackmail after she kills a young artist who had tried to rape her.
Dir: Alfred Hitchcock Cast: Anny Ondra , Sara Allgood , Charles Paton .
MALTIN REVIEW: D: Alfred Hitchcock. Anny Ondra, Sara Allgood, John Longden, Charles Paton, Donald Calthrop, Cyril Ritchard.
"Young woman kills man who tries to rape her, then finds herself caught between investigating detective (who happens to be her boyfriend) and a blackmailer. Hitchcock's--and England's--first talking picture is still exciting, especially for fans and students of the director's work. Originally shot as a silent; that version, running 75m., also exists (and is significantly better). Leading lady Ondra had a heavy accent, so her voice was dubbed for the talkie."
2:15 AM 83 min
TV-PG suspense
Murderer Lives at Number 21, The (1947)
An inspector moves into a Paris boarding house to catch a serial killer.
Dir: Henri-Georges Clouzot Cast: Daniel Gelin , Pierre Fresnay ,
83 min, TV-PG

Don't know, since my reference is the NPG, which unfortunately only lists the movies aired in primetime.

Is OUR WIFE (1941, Columbia) (on April 5) a TCM premiere? I don't recall seeing it on TCM before.
