Thanks. I'm always on the look-out for this episode. If you notice it's on please let me know.

next:

On a long running sitcom, the story is about a visiting relative of one of the stars, who falls in love with another one of the stars , and the characters wind up married. Series and the guest star ??

Yes, it was a 1965 episode. By the way, she didn't shoot Matt and he didn't shoot her. Your turn, lavender.

Thanks. On an episode of "Gunsmoke", a woman comes from the east looking for her husband. When she is told that he was shot and killed by Matt Dillon, she sets out to learn to shoot, so she can avenge the husband's death. The actress guest starring was a musical performer for most of her career with a few straight dramatic roles in her past. In order to showcase her musical talents, the script has her getting a job at Miss Kitty's saloon and entertaining the customers with some songs. Can you name this actress?

Correct, Miles. The interplay between the young couple in the lead roles made a strong basis for this long-running series. And they both racked up considerable Director and Producer credits during the run of the show.

Miles' thread.

When this lady won her Lead Actress Oscar, the male lead in the same film won one of his Oscars, Male Lead.

Actress; started in juvenile roles. An Oscar, multiple Emmys, many other nominations and wins. Producer and Director credits also. Had roles in several TV series, including star billing in a well-regarded sitcom that lasted most of the 1990s.

In an episode of the 90s sitcom, the central couple were introduced to an early version of experiments with "Virtual Reality" gaming. -- Put on a pair of goggles that also had a sound capability, and the person wearing the goggles seemed to be in a place programmed into the game. The audience shared their impressions: The husband seemed to be in a park where an attractive young woman flirted with him. The wife's program preserved and repeated a recent conversation that she cherished: Her husband was repeatedly heard to admit, "I was wrong...I was wrong...I was wrong..."

What actress?

Ok, Six....That torrent of clues must have done it....Your turn.

I remember reading "Mad Magazine" years ago where they parodied "Medic"...It starts off in the first frame with Richard Boone holding up an unusual instrument in his left hand and trying to introduce the series....."And for tonight's show we have a medical dilemna, which was resolved by this common but very important instrument called a...a....er...a..". Then they show him looking closely and intently at the instrument with his eyebrows wrinkled and his chin cupped in his right hand trying to remember its name....

Sorry, Edythe, but no.
The series was a medical drama whose plots focused mainly on medical procedures such as operations, research, etc. Each episode is usually introduced by the lead actor who played a doctor in the series...
And he is not a member of the Magnificent Seven, but has played villains in westerns with John Wayne and Paul Newman...
Also, the guest star in this particular episode is NOT Yul Brynner.

Here's a clue:

The series has a beautiful theme music...A very large hospital in the northern suburbs of Detroit was named after the researcher portrayed in this real-life, 30-minute episode from the 1950s....
