Yes, Happy Belated Ty!

I always have a shot of tequila in his honor and try to watch at least one film around his bday! So glad TCM is giving him a day in August (I guessed correctly).

Tyrone's site is being overhauled, but if you haven't nominated him for a postage stamp for 2014 (his 100th birthday) . . .

But will 2014 be the 100th anniversary of Power's birth? Depending upon which source you use, Tyrone Power was born in Cincinatti on May 5 in either 1913 or 1914. He died a tragically young man either way, of course. Just for the sake of records, however, I've never been certain if he was 44 or 45 when that heart attack felled him.

Does anyone know for certain the year in which Tyrone Power was born? The various sources I've come across seem largely split between the two years.

Well, I don't know if Ty's B-Day was yesterday, but today FMC showed PRINCE OF FOXES, and TCM will be showing A YANK IN THE R.A.F. But yes a several movie tribute would have been preferable. Better yet, how about Power as SOTM? There are plenty of his movies that are seldom, if ever shown.

The Mark of Zorro, Abandon Ship, Son of Fury and The Razors Edge. All in my personal Top 250. I like Ty.

I'd add the title (above) to your list - CinecrazyDC

Max,

Ty Power is being saluted in August with his own day during Summer Under the Stars. See the thread in General Discussions for more details.

TCM has once again ignored Ty's Birthday, so in honor of a great actor's day, here is a fantasy lineup of what (I think) should be included in today's movie lineup:
