A review launched by AG William Barr into the origins of the Russia investigation has expanded significantly amid concerns about whether the probe has any legal or factual basis.

What a waste.  Wasn't Trump totally exonerated? .... NOT!

I read the report.  There is more proven incidents of obstruction and abuse of power in the Mueller report than all of the current Ukranian business.  And they met the criteria of criminality too.

Assad, Putin, Erdogan and Isis advanced thanks to trump's stupid move.

It looks like the president of the United States has everyone's interests covered except those of the United States of America.

President Trump using Chicago 10-28 fundraiser

(hosted by Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts)

to lure donors with chance for free trip, picture and to meet him:

"Trump, who has regularly assailed Chicago gun violence as a fault of Democratic leadership, is urging grassroots supporters to contribute to him in exchange for a chance to win an “incredible trip” to his fundraiser in the city later this month.

And while the exact location of the Oct. 28 high-dollar fundraiser is only being revealed to donors, Trump left little doubt that it would be held at Trump Tower in downtown Chicago, saying he was “hosting a lunch at a VERY NICE HOTEL.”

“We’ll cover your flight. We’ll cover your hotel. We’ll cover your meal. And we can even take a photo together,” Trump said in an email to supporters on Thursday.

The president made no mention of the city’s gun violence in the solicitation. Instead, Trump called the offer a chance to take an “incredible trip to meet me in Chicago.”

The fundraising luncheon has three different levels of donations ranging from $2,800 for a lunch ticket, $35,000 per couple donated or raised to earn a photo with the president and $100,000 raised for an exclusive roundtable sit-down with Trump.

Trump compares Chicago violence to Afghanistan

Jan 25, 2017, 10:52 PM

"Afghanistan is not like what's happening in Chicago."

President Donald Trump repeated a threat that he would "send in the feds" if law-enforcement officials in the nation's third-largest city fail to reduce the crime rate.

During an interview with ABC News' David Muir on Wednesday night, Trump asserted that "carnage" in Chicago is getting out of hand.

"People are being shot left and right, thousands of people over a short period of time," the president said. "This year, which has just started, is worse than last year which was a catastrophe." .....

Isn't the standard progressive complaint that local officials need the assistance of the Feds and that too often the Feds just ignore these request?

Chicago IS a complete garbage dump. As someone who lives near there, I completely agree. That said, the crime has been going down recently though only by a little bit.

Trump Has More Than 2,500 Conflicts of Interest and Counting, Live Tracker by Watchdog Finds

.......Trump has 2,551 conflicts in the 1,004 days he has been in the White House as of Monday, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) reported in its tracker published on its website.

"One thing it's saying is no conflict happens in a vacuum," CREW research director Robert Maguire told Newsweek. "It's part of a growing number, thousands of conflicts between the Trump administration and Trump businesses."

Trump's conflicts were sorted into five broad categories by CREW. Here is the tally of conflicts by type:

  • 1,493: visits to Trump properties by government officials including the president
  • 533: miscellaneous interactions between government officials and the Trump Organization
  • 286: instances in which the president or administration officials used their platform to promote Trump properties
  • 176: events by political organizations or foreign governments held at Trump's properties
  • 63: trademark approvals to Trump businesses in foreign countries during while he is in office

Democrats’ argument:
@realDonaldTrump must be impeached for pressuring Ukraine to investigate Biden & threatening aid.

1. No Ukrainian has said they felt pressured.

2. There was no investigation into Biden.

3. Ukraine got the aid. What is there to even investigate?

2. No teller has been investigated.

Former GOP strategist says Trump's Syria retreat tells America's rivals "now is the time to make your move"

Russian Media Cheers Trump’s Moves in Syria: ‘Putin Won the Lottery!’

For Russia, Trump’s presidency is a gift that keeps on giving.

...."What Washington got out of this strange move is completely unclear. To the contrary, what Moscow gained from this is self-evident...Trump’s mistake in Syria is the unexpected ‘lottery win’ that further strengthened Moscow’s position in the Middle East and undermined America’s prestige as a rational political player and a reliable partner.” .......

(Trump) is laboring so hard to strengthen the international image of Russia in general—and Putin in particular...In this situation, Americans—to their chagrin and our enjoyment—are the only losers in this situation.”

“This is such a pleasure,” grinned Olga Skabeeva, the host of Russia’s state television program 60 Minutes...

the Russian state media pondered out loud about the merits of Trump’s self-proclaimed “infinite wisdom” of pulling the U.S. forces out of northern and eastern Syria, concluding that

the decision was an enormous blow to America’s standing, undermining its current and potential alliances.

On the other hand, Turkey is delighted with the outcome...."

“I look at Trump and think: ‘May God grant him good health—and another term.

This is a great situation for Russia...We can practically sit back and reap the dividends from what others are doing...

Meanwhile, Trump is yet to make a single good deal, which is why I wish him good health, may he flourish and get re-elected... ",.....

host of the nightly television show The Evening with Vladimir Solovievsarcastically surmised:

“So it looks like we’ll have to elect your president—again.”

“There Is Definite Hanky-Panky Going On”:

The Fantastically Profitable Mystery of the Trump Chaos Trades

The president’s talk can move markets—and it’s made some futures traders billions.

Did they know what he was going to say before he said it?

....... Traders in the Chicago pits have been watching these kinds of wagers with an increasing mixture of shock and awe since the start of the Trump presidency. They are used to rapid fluctuations in the S&P 500 index; volatility is common, of course.

But the precision and timing of these trades, and the vast amount of money being made as a result of them, make the traders wonder if all this is on the level. Are the people behind these trades incredibly lucky, or do they have access to information that other people don’t have .........

Trump's former generals, from James Mattis to Joseph Votel, sound an unprecedented warning

From the beginning of his tenure, the president has given critics plenty of reasons to be excoriated.
But we have heard little dissent from warriors — until now.

..... , Mattis is merely the latest in a line of commanding officers who have recently rebuked the president’s decisions. This collective decision to go against such entrenched military traditions should give their warnings even more weight. When the generals are speaking out, something is really wrong. ....

When warriors of the caliber of Mattis and McRaven or Votel and Allen publicly reprove the president, citizens may properly conclude that our national security decision-making is truly dysfunctional and that the nation is dangerously at risk. .....

Yeah but you can count on Chicago's government to be incompetent. Plus it's not exactly in their business interest.
