“Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders rushed to Langley, Va., to meet with Gina Haspel at her CIA office Friday afternoon.”

Gosh, that must have been torture for her.....

Some people like to spend a nice spring weekend water surfing, water skiing or just watching others participate in these fun water sports.

So I wonder if  these two gals still had time to watch a little "fun" Waterboarding after their business meeting?

A telling detail from this terrific @CarolLeonnig @shaneharris @dawsey scoop on Haspel threatening to withdraw her nomination at CIA: Sarah Sanders and Marc Short talked her out of it.

The name "John Kelly" isn't even in the story.

I wonder if part of the reason is because John Kelly, as a former 4 star general, knows that torture is wrong and violates the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Gina Haspel should withdraw from consideration as the next head of the CIA.

CIA Propaganda Denounced as Durbin Sounds Alarm Over Agency Effort to Whitewash Haspel's Torturous Past

"The CIA's effort to promote the Haspel nomination appears to be without precedent in recent history."

"Official resources of the CIA have been used for an extensive public relations campaign to newspapers and other media outlets to generate favorable coverage of Ms. Haspel's nomination."

"Congress has enacted several laws that prohibit the use of appropriated funds to attempt to influence congressional action on legislative matters," Durbin wrote that "while these laws do not specifically apply to nominations.... [o]ur intelligence agencies and our intelligence officers have the duty to provide objective intelligence to inform the policy making process."

The senator's letter comes amid growing frustration over the CIA's refusal to publicly disclose more details about Haspel's "highly secretive and reportedly torture-filled record." It also follows the CIA's decision to declassify a memo that "cleared" Haspel of any wrongdoing with regard to her role in destroying video recordings of agency operatives torturing people.

Trump was reportedly upset about illegal border crossings and berated and yelled at Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at Wednesday's cabinet meeting. She drafted a resignation letter and is described as "miserable" in her job.

Well, Kristjen can always go and get a job in Norway.

Maybe the Norwegians will Grant her political Asylum and she won't have to be an illegal immigrant

But after all, she knew what she signed up for.

And this is what happens when you send an incompetent neophyte out to do a job that should be handled by an experienced professional with the necessary expertise.

This is what happens when you govern by nepotism --you're always going to have incompetence in the jobs.

If  Betsy had gone to public school, she would have learned how not to be so transparent.

Also maybe she would have taken a speech class and learned how not to make a fool of herself on " 60 Minutes ".

Long time ago I worked for a for profit college.  Profit was the main concern, above all else.

Interesting, many of the public post-secondary vocational, community and four year colleges analyzed what the for profits were doing and adapted many of them.  This was done to increase enrollment.  One was to tailor course offerings and schedules such that veterans could obtain full-time VA payments while attending only three nights per week.

One fight between Kirstjen Nielsen and Stephen Miller:

He sought to put language in a government report saying children of foreign-born nationals are more likely to commit terrorism.

She said that was not based in fact.

In high school Stephen Miller became well known as the student who harassed the Hispanic custodian.

DJT promised the American people the “best and the brightest” and delivered...Dazed & Confused Giuliani. Ignorant of the facts. Doesn’t know the law. Hasn’t tried a case this century. He’s a glorified puppet with zero credibility. And a complete joke. #Basta

That sums up a number of trump's appointees.

But one in particular I could think of this comment really does describe succinctly:

Zero Credibility and a Complete Joke= Betsy DeVos.

Mrs. DeVos is calling for schools to report illegal immigrant kindergarteners and have ICE arrest them while they're swinging on the swings on the playground.

What in the world has happened to our government?

From bullying and harassing his high school Hispanic custodian, Miller has gone to promoting a policy that is inhumane and cruel to Hispanic Latin Americans seeking asylum in the United States.

"This is what happens when you put someone in charge of an agency they think shouldn't exist," @SenWarren said after Mick Mulvaney fired every member of a key CFPB advisory board.

Mulvaney is only interested in obtaining views from his inner circle, and has no interest in hearing the perspectives of those who work with struggling American families," says the board's ousted chair

"A Washington D.C. judge ordered Friday the Environmental Protection Agency must comply with a legal request to produce scientific evidence backing the EPA administrator’s claims about climate change.

The Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, or PEER, filed a Freedom of Information Act Request to the EPA, which seeks the release of studies and documents that support EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt's claim that human activity is not the largest factor causing global climate change.

..... “This could also strengthen the challenges to some of the deregulatory actions by the administration, showing they have no valid basis.” ,...

Two of Scott Pruitt’s aides resign as the EPA’s ethics questions continue

WASHINGTON — Two top aides resigned Wednesday from the Environmental Protection Agency as its administrator, Scott Pruitt, faced mounting allegations of misusing his authority, including by seeking a Chick-fil-A fast-food franchise for his wife.

Millan Hupp, Mr. Pruitt’s scheduler, and Sarah Greenwalt, a senior counsel to the administrator, have come under scrutiny in recent weeks in connection with Mr. Pruitt’s spending and ethics concerns.

Before joining the agency, both Ms. Hupp and Ms. Greenwalt worked for Mr. Pruitt in Oklahoma, where he served as attorney general. Both aides later received substantial raises at the EPA, bypassing the usual White House procedures. Mr. Pruitt told Congress he neither knew about nor approved of the raises, and he told lawmakers he reversed the raises when he learned about them.
