What if I told you in January that only one unelected person in this photo would still have a job in 6 months?

Meet John F. Kelly, Donald Trump's new White House chief of staff-

".....Kelly also served a tour in Iraq and was eventually placed in charge of the United States Southern Command, a position he held until January 2016. That "had him in charge of military operations in 32 countries in the Caribbean, Central America and South America," according to PBS.

The article notes that Kelly was a staunch critic of President Barack Obama:

He has occasionally
the Obama administration's military policy, such as trying to close Guantanamo Bay and opening all combat roles to women. He argued that conditions in Gitmo are
as its opponents have alleged and that the military would be
to lower its physical standards to allow women in combat roles.

It appears that Reeces Peanuts was on Air Force One with Trump when he got the tweet that he had been fired.

If this is so it is just another example of what a true coward and morally bankrupt person Trump is.

Nah, I doubt it.

I bet Trump had just seen Air Force One and was dying to use a line from the film.

Priebus Is Out — In Biggest White House Staff Shake-Up Yet-

".......The fact that Priebus is the one who is out certainly lends credence to the idea that the New York contingent, which believes in letting Trump be Trump, is ascendant in the White House.

.......but it was never a natural fit — the mild-mannered, careful former Wisconsin Republican Party leader with the Midwestern accent, once critically described as the "nebbish's nebbish," and the flashy, cavalier New York billionaire....

Embracing the tornado

As chairman of the RNC, Priebus had the unenviable role of trying to keep the roof on the Republican Party house with Trump, an outsider tornado, spiraling toward it.

Priebus tried to contain the tornado, getting Trump to agree to a pledge not to run as third party candidate if he lost the Republican nomination. But the tornado of Trump only got stronger, and no amount of plywood and nails would keep the house in order.

Instead, Priebus opened the doors and arguably did more than anyone else in the party to embrace the coming force.......

just a BTW................

Scaramucci's Wife Files for Divorce-

"Scaramucci’s wife of three years, Deirdre Ball, has filed divorce papers due to disgust for what friends describe as his “naked political ambition.”

Multiple sources told Smith that Ball is “fed up with his ruthless quest to get close to President Trump, whom she despises.”

“She is tired of his naked ambition, which is so enormous that it left her at her wits’ end,” said one friend.

Ball, who used to work for her now-husband as a vice president of SkyBridge Capital, began dating Scaramucci in 2011, and the couple have two children together.....

The Anthony Scaramucci Era Will Be Freakish, Embarrassing and All Too Short-

Glad-handing hedge-funder turned White House press chief has reignited the comic potential of Trump presidency.

-By Matt Taibbi

".....In the space of a week, Trump's new press expert demonstrated that he

a) didn't know how to hold off-the-record conversations

B) didn't understand that cameras and microphones keep rolling even when the red light is off and

c) doesn't bother to check the other public statements made by administration officials before he makes statements of his own.

An alien crashed on earth and given a two-minute tutorial on dealing with reporters would have done a better job.

On the other hand, it sort of worked! The least successful Trump administration officials to date have been the ones who have labored in public to act like real presidential aides.

Scaramucci on the other hand is like Trump himself: ridiculous, ham-brained, unapologetic, disdainful of Washington pieties, and bursting with reasonless confidence.

Scaramucci has been hovering around the Trump administration for a while, but until now didn't have a prominent role. The reason for that is hilarious:

he was considered too ridiculous and uncouth for public service by the other swamp-monster members of the Trump administration.

His hire horrified even hardened mutants like Bannon........

...As Scaramucci explained to New York magazine reporter Jessica Pressler in January:

"And the other thing I have learned about these people in Washington ... is they have no money. So what happens when they have no **** money is they fight about what seat they are in and what the title is. **** congressmen act like that. They are **** jackasses."

....Scaramucci represents a third strategy, one that's similar to Trump's own campaign tactics. That is, don't ever react to the news or attempt to explain it, but continually stay ahead of it by making new news of your own.

There are thousands of reporters in America, and if Scaramucci has the stomach for it, he should call a new one every night and just rant his brains out. It might not save America from being the laughingstock of the planet – that ship has sailed for us – but at least it will be entertaining...."

Another Trump appointee resigns Cabinet position!!!!

John Kelly resigns as head of Homeland Security!

OK, he has to resign to become chief of staff, but makes an interesting "headline."

Regardless, Trump has had more of his people to resign or be fired in such a short time than any other president in history.

Meanwhile, thousands of vacancies continue as Trump and Republicans fail to nominate or approve people.

KELLY vs. the "MOOCH"?

"Will General Kelly tolerate a Scaramucci in the West Wing of the White House?” he asked.

“And for sure a life-long corps officer has to be completely revolted by the language, by the disposition of Scaramucci in these interviews. And so if Scaramucci ever enters the White House with a hard pass as the actual communications director, it’s a signal of failure for the general in his ability to assert control in the White House.....

Since General Kelly is able to tolerate Trump,  he should be able to tolerate the Mooch.

Priebus warned Trump not to hire Scaramucci, saying SkyBridge Capital's buyers overpaid because he'd promised them special access to Trump.

Maybe Spicer will go on Dancing With the Stars after all.  Yipee.

I hope that that comic on the Comedy Network who was playing the Mooch didn't go out and buy a new house this week.

JOHN KELLY vs. TRUMP?

"(CNN) President Donald Trump, who is always looking for a quick fix, is hoping that John Kelly, his new chief of staff, will be the magic bullet.

But it won't work.
Kelly will find himself extremely frustrated, and there will be limits to the kind of "order" he will achieve. He is working for a president who will continue to act in the same destructive manner. Unless there is a wholesale purge, Trump will still be surrounded by some calculating and strong-headed figures like Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, Sebastian Gorka, Jared Kushner and Anthony Scaramucci, who will not cede ground very easily.

Kelly also faces a political environment that is even more difficult than before. Republicans on Capitol Hill are angry and frustrated,.......

The best comparison might be Gen. Alexander Haig, who became chief of staff for an embattled Richard Nixon in 1973........

The problem for Haig -- and Kelly might want to take note -- was that there was little he could do to turn around the dire situation he inherited.......

Like Nixon, there is little chance that Trump will change in any fundamental way, and he will continue to engage in the kind of behavior that further erodes his standing. The information that keeps coming out about how Trump is handling the investigation into Russia and mishandling key public policy decisions will not vanish, just like Scaramucci's tweets....

One problem for any general or admiral that takes over a civilian enterprise is that their experience has been in a virtual dictatorship.

While they listened to others for input, they alone decided what to do - and more importantly everyone went along with it.

On the other hand, nobody in the military gets to be a colonel or a Navy captain without playing politics to a great extent.

Kelly's biggest problem will be the moron in the oval office - and he can't fire him.  His next biggest will be the Trump family - and he can't fire them either.

Is there a site where they are keeping a count of how many people have quit or been fired so far?

Also, how many rejected being appointed/hired?

Laugh of the day or maybe week--Huckleberry Sanders saying Donny

was upset by Little Tony's inappropriate language.

Contender--Trump says Kelly is the greatest COS after one day on the job.

I wonder how much trouble they had trying to get Donny to quit referring to Kelly as "Caporegime"?

After all, the president's name IS "Don".  ;)
