The Trump Tower Hillbillies : What in the World is the Matter with Trump Supporters? Are They Crazy?

We deserve their apology.

Wow,  you really don't wish for the Dems to make gains in the 2018 election.

You must want the GOP to maintain a majority in Congress so they can assist Trump.

Note the many that voted for Trump that decided to vote for Dem Lamb in PA.    This is the main reason he won.

Hillary was called out by the DNC for being so misguided and selfish and this is why she is apologizing.

Hopefully in the future she will just shut up and go away.    She can only hurt the Dem party.

Trump called immigrants “animals”, but according to the NYT we should be nice to his supporters and refrain from treating them bad, otherwise we’ll alienate them.

They are doing a great job alienating themselves with their racism, bigotry, and misogyny.

This thread should also be about the craziness of the Trump haters especially related to this 'animals' comment.

A comment clearly made about MS-13 illegal immigrant criminals.    CNN devoted hours to this and while their one token right-leaning guest put the comment in its proper context,  every other talking head would just go on a rant about how this was an attack on all immigrants,  even ones like my mother who came to this country in 1950 and is an American citizen.

One guest said she was a black lesbian and this comment hurt her and was just another daily attack on her:

  Say what????#@*#

And he's much too honest to engage in the phoney hucksterism necessary to entice the braindead radicals in the US to vote for him.

Man shows up to site of Santa Fe High School shooting with American flag, Trump hat and gun

A Texas man stirred up controversy when he arrived at the scene of the Santa Fe High School shooting with an American flag and a pistol on his hip.

Footage shared on Twitter by Scott McGrew shows two news reporters from local stations KHOU and KPRC interviewing an unidentified man at a gas station near the scene of Friday's mass shooting, which reportedly left multiple victims dead.

"What was going through your head when you found out that this was going on?" one reporter asked the man.

"Get to the school, make America great again," he responded.

"By doing what? What was your plan of action?" she continued.

"Offering support," he said. "Just, 'God bless y'all' will go a long way right now for a lot of people."

"God bless y'all," he added before walking away from the cameras.

Wonder how he would have felt if some law enforcement officer shot him for being armed near the shootings?

Not quite.  A vigilante would have tried to enforce a law.  This guy just wanted to show up, wave the US Flag, show he is for Trump and display his state approved firearm.  Oh, and maybe shoot somebody if he gets a chance.  But that is not enforcing a law.

The Four Horsemen of evangelical hypocrisy: How they whitewashed Donald Trump

Instead of speaking truth to power, these evangelical leaders are using proximity to power to their advantage

".............

The Four Horsemen of Rationalization

Donald Trump rode to political victory on all four horses of Calumny — Fear, Ignorance, Bigotry and Smear — but his white evangelical enablers provide religious rationalizations for all of them.....

Instead of speaking truth to power like the prophets Nathan, Amos and Jesus, today’s white evangelicals use their proximity to power to their advantage. They champion Trump because he champions their cause. As Perkins observes, “From a policy standpoint, [Trump] has delivered more than any other president in my lifetime,” a statement echoed by Falwell and many others.

That claim is correct. Other Republican presidents have largely given lip service to the issues most important to white evangelical leaders. Trump, from a policy perspective, has been the best friend they have ever had in the White House..........

“the Christian right may be winning elections in the short term, but it’s also driving people out of the pews, which is likely to lead to long-term defeat.”

What happens when you render unto Caesar that which is God’s? To paraphrase another saying of Jesus: You may gain the whole world, but you lose your soul.

The nation’s nightmare of McCarthyism lasted four years after Sen. Smith’s speech, and its demise is often credited, among other things, to Joseph Welch's famous rebuke to McCarthy: “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”......

This is what I have been saying all along;  that from a political POV it was wise of evangelical leaders to support Trump.   Hopefully doing so will come back to bite them but in the short term it has been a win-win.

The white evangelicals are in their Sunday pews today. They are predominantly supporting trump's policies.

They are predominantly against abortion.

They care more about trump, they care  more about some fetus cells--

Than they care about the fate of real life children-- about 1,500 of them.

Jesus didn't say that he only wanted the white children, Jesus didn't say that he only wanted the American children, Jesus didn't say that he only wanted the rich children - - he just said the children.

Today those white evangelicals should hang their heads in shame and wonder if they can even call themselves Christians anymore.

The Trump effect: New study connects white American intolerance and support for authoritarianism

The research suggests that when intolerant white people fear democracy may benefit marginalized people, they abandon their commitment to democracy.

......... white people who did not want to have immigrants or people of different races living next door to them were more likely to be supportive of authoritarianism. For instance, people who said they did not want to live next door to immigrants or to people of another race were more supportive of the idea of military rule, or of a strongman-type leader who could ignore legislatures and election results. ....
.... White people continue to decrease as a percentage of the U.S. population; at some point, it's going to be impossible to win a national, democratic American election with a platform that alienates people of color. ....

EXTREMELY BIG DEAL: The Justice Department — which normally defends federal laws in court — says Obamacare's individual mandate has become unconstitutional. Also wants courts to strike down protections for pre-existing conditions.

I wonder how many trump supporters depend on Obamacare for their survival. And of that group, I wonder how many have pre-existing conditions.

fetus cells do have the uncomfortable habit of leading to newborn babies after nine months.
