Apparently tough guy Trump is not going to mention the words 'Radical Islamic Terrorism' while he is in Saudi Arabia.

"What is President Donald Trump’s position on Islam? Does he consider Islam to be a religion of peace? Or, as Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn once put it, is Islam “like a cancer”?

Judging by Trump’s own ad-libbed departure from the speech he delivered yesterday in Saudi Arabia, the president is thinking about Islam with his typical combination of deep cynicism and utter cluelessness. In Riyadh, the Saudi capital, Trump stood before leaders from 55 countries and three continents. He called on them to join the United States in “honestly confronting the crisis of Islamic extremism, and the Islamists, and Islamic terror of all kinds.”

Each one of those terms — Islamic extremism, Islamists, and Islamic terror — has a precise meaning. By lumping them together, Trump put America’s fears and inconsistent rhetoric on display at a moment when much of the Muslim world was seeking clarity and parsing his every word.......

Breitbart News put the words “Islamic Terror” in the headline of their piece on Trump’s speech.

Landslide Win for Iran’s Reformists Doesn’t Fit Trump’s Script, So He Ignores It-

"The hypocrisy of America’s support for unelected despots in the oil-rich Gulf states is not new, but Donald Trump’s lavish praise for them on Sunday, as allies against “Islamist extremism” and “the oppression of women,” was particularly striking, coming one day after Iranian voters danced in the streets to celebrate their reformist president’s landslide re-election..........

To be fair, Trump's 70 and a trip like this could exhaust men much younger than that. Still, he made such a big deal about Hillary's "lack of stamina" during the campaign it's difficult not to gloat a little bit over these reports.

If he starts to fall down and has to be propped up by security agents we'll have a nice video clip to replay countless times besides that clip of Clinton faltering during the campaign.

Will he be able to dodge shoes or anything else thrown at him, like Bush 43?

In the Arab culture, throwing shoes is just not just picking the nearest object to toss - it's a major insult. The act is symbolic   Doubt Trump be offended in a matter other Arabs perceive the act.

The gist of Trump's trip: heap praise on human rights abusers and terrorist financiers, the Saudis and trash our European allies.  Make side deals with the Saudis for Jared and Ivanka's private businesses.  Good going.

Trump's trips was a failure, pure and simple.  There was NO home run of any kind at all.  The only accomplishment was to get other countries to publicly state what they already were doing - fighting terrorism.

"The White House is trying to sell Trump’s trip as a success with the folks back home, but the reality is that the Pope’s expression said it all when he met Trump, NATO leaders laughed at Trump when tried to lecture them, and the exhausted president was literally left leading from behind as he was too tired to walk with the other G7 leaders and had to follow behind in a golf cart. For good measure, Trump also appeared out of it and wandered off during a meeting with Israel, only to be brought back by staff.

Macron’s comments that the lumped the US president in with authoritarians should be troubling to the American people, but it is also evidence of Trump’s failure to push around US allies. The world is not to going to bend to Trump, so he will either have to come to the table as a partner, or the world’s only superpower will be left behind.

Trump didn’t shape policy. He isolated the US from the rest of the world, which is why his trip was a failure."

I'm waiting to see what happens with the next G20 meeting, assuming Putin will be there.

When meeting with Putin face to face, new French President Macron launched what was described as a "furious (public) attack"  for meddling in France's election.

Trump and Putin Could Form “Axis of Mass Destruction” on Climate, French Minister Fears-

".....

Such an act, Hulot said in March, when Trump first signaled that he might withdraw from the agreement to limit carbon emissions, would be “a veritable middle finger to our children,” and could even expose the American president one day to charges of “crimes against humanity.”

Worst of all, Hulot told French television, was the danger that Trump’s action could encourage his fellow climate skeptic, Vladimir Putin, to ignore the restrictions on industrial emissions. Together the two leaders could create, Hulot warned, “an axis of mass destruction between two great powers,” with catastrophic consequences for the planet.....

President Trump pulls U.S. out of Paris climate accord, sparking global criticism-

"....Major U.S. allies, business leaders and even the Pope had urged the U.S. to remain in the deal. The decision drew immediately backlash from climate activists and many business leaders.

The U.S. is the world’s second-largest emitter of carbon, following only China. Beijing, however, has reaffirmed its commitment to meeting its targets under the Paris accord, recently canceling construction of about 100 coal-fired power plants and investing billions in massive wind and solar projects......

Why is it you support everything Trump does, and when someone points these things out, you say "us Deplorables don't really care about that. Its about jobs" or something to that effect.

Well when everything distracting Trump these days keeps him from doing anything you claim his people find important, like gutting Obama care and giving "Huge" tax cuts to billionaires (or as he would have it, stimulate the economy to create jobs), how will dear Donny fare with his fans. Even with total control of the government, Republicans haven't got anything done. Trump is too busy lawyering up, as well as starting backfires to try to stop those advancing on him. Sounds like a one-term presidency, unless impeachment and/or resigning in disgrace resolves this situation first.

"Foreign agents lobbying the federal government and Congress for Saudi Arabia just disclosed a $270,000 payment to Trump’s DC Hotel, which is still owned outright by the President. It’s illegal for any president to accept foreign payments under the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause.

Trump knows that these payments are grounds for impeachment from office, but lied to the public and pledged that they’d all be donated to the US Treasury.....

The growing crisis in the Middle East between two American allies, Saudi Arabia and Qatar makes the issue of favoritism and payments even more pressing as a government matter because America’s entire anti-ISIS effort, Coalition Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve, is directed from the Qatari capital of Doha, which houses the Middle East’s largest US military base.

This is precisely the reason the Constitution forbids presidents from accepting any foreign emoluments (payments of any kind whatsoever), because it creates unseemly appearances that can have serious impacts on matters of state business.....

Has Trump's tweet taking credit for branding Qatar a terrorist enabler not long after praising them as a trusted ally when he was in Saudi Arabia put thousands of U.S. troops who are stationed there in danger?  The U.S. relies on Qatar and its air force base to fight terrorism.  Does carrot-head know what he is doing?

Sorry, I put this in the whopper thread by mistake ...

It seems that the recent disparaging news about Qatar which prompted Trump to jump on the bandwagon was created by the Russians and is fake.  So, Trump is either an idiot for jumping on the bandwagon at the drop of a hat or he is willingly amplifying a Russian fake news story much like he did during the campaign.

"Speaking in the Rose Garden, the president said Qatar had “historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level.” Other U.S. officials have said Qatar has already taken some steps to reduce terror funding but that the steps are insufficient.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Trump’s sharp condemnation might affect U.S. cooperation with Qatar, which hosts some 10,000 U.S. troops and a major U.S. air base that serves as a staging ground for operations in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. The Qatari Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Only an hour before, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had issued a very different message, calling on the Arab nations to immediately ease their blockade on Qatar.

“The blockage is hindering U.S. military action in the region, and the campaign against ISIS,” Tillerson said, using an acronym for the extremist group........
