The lessons Trump seems to have learned from the Mueller investigation

are that he got elected by soliciting help from a foreign power,

that the GOP helped him get away with it,

and that his best shot in 2020 is to do it again

harder.

A New Book Argues That Trump Is Television in Human Form

"...... he has absorbed, bloblike, the iconic power of characters including Archie Bunker, Walter White, and Rodney Dangerfield in “Caddyshack.” Television trained Trump in his conduct as he pursued money, power, and women, just as it has mediated the desires of its every viewer. ......

the Trump character, “like a breakout sitcom character,” became exaggerated:

“tougher, more insulting, determined to give the crowds twice as much of what they wanted, twice as hard.” .....

.....Trump does not think. Nonetheless, Trump is a great postmodern feeler, who intuits and responds to the stimuli of electronic media with the dark brilliance of an idiot savant,

in the sure belief that only suckers care about objective truth. ........

It is a book about morality and about the amorality intrinsic to the medium, as one of the core functions of television is to stimulate shameless desire. The lesson Trump learned from it, like a bad fan of “Mad Men,”

is that his desires should not be constrained. This was the lesson embodied by him, this week, when he seemed to speak felonies into effect live from the South Lawn. ......

“The news was a feedback cycle of Trump being inflammatory, the news becoming inflamed, Trump growing inflamed by the coverage.

The numbing round of feuds and outrages, shock after shock, felt like it had been programmed by a ratings-mad TV executive, because in a way, it was.”

........Trump is its ideal subject, an erratic grotesque with an id like a vacuum of need.

The screech will only escalate in pitch and intensity......

Chuck Todd: “You dont trust the FBI or CIA?”

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Johnson spending the 4th of July in Russia
and declaring that Russian elex interference was no biggie.

trump says the same thing. trump is more likely to trust Kremlin information than information from his own National Security sources in the United States federal government.

I wonder if there's a name for that?

Trump Agrees to Let Turkey Invade Kurdish-Controlled Syrian Area

".....On Sunday, the White House released a statement that surprised many in the region. It said, quote,

“Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey by telephone. Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation in Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in that operation, and the United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial ‘Caliphate,’ will no longer be in the immediate area.”

The announcement marks a major shift in U.S. policy.........

Once again, he’s operating as a one-man show, making huge policy changes on a whim

and ignoring the advice of national security experts.

President Trump lashes out over Fox News poll that shows majority support for his impeachment:

"Whoever their Pollster is, they suck."

"......@FoxNews doesn’t deliver for US anymore. It is so different than it used to be."

"Oh well, I’m President!" he added.

...... Of those surveyed, 51 percent said they want Trump impeached and removed from office, while another 4 percent say they would like Trump impeached but not removed. On the flip side, 40 percent of voters said they oppose impeachment. Support for Trump's impeachment and removal jumped 9 points from July, increasing 11 points among Democrats, 5 points among Republicans and 3 points among independents.

***Fox News found increased support for Trump's impeachment among white evangelicals, white men without a college degree and rural white voters. .......***

Fox News Poll shows trump's base is starting to desert a sinking ship.

It blows my MIND that one President will be singularly, 100% responsible, not ambiguously, for unleashing hundreds of thousands of terrorists into the Sahel, Europe, and possibly the US. And he’s gloating about it.
