I was seated next to ⁦@Acosta⁩ at today’s press conference and did not witness him “placing his hands” on the young intern, as the White House alleges. He held on to the microphone as she reached for it. The ⁦@Reuters⁩ pictures below depict what happened accurately.

False predicate to punish a reporter. This is what the president wants. If he really thought @acosta was unfair, then why did he call on him? Because he wants the confrontation.

There is a reason why @realDonaldTrump is acting so erratic—and so angry—and so racist—and so unhinged. For the first time in his life, he’s found himself in a situation that he can’t control and it terrifies him. There is no way out and he knows it.

ROBERT. MUELLER. IS. COMING.

So unhinged...

The pattern is established:

1. Trump does something outrageous.

2. To his surprise and delight, he pays no price for doing the outrageous thing.

3. Emboldened, he does more of that outrageous thing as well as other outrageous things.

Unaccountable, unchecked, unleashed…

When we said that media must stop tweets that quote claims of voter fraud from Trump/Scott

without giving context - in the same tweet - that law enforcement has found none,

we meant ones like this.

This tweet should be deleted. 👇

It’s time for the press to suspend normal relations with the Trump presidency

"......... A middle-ground would be this: what the president says is neither automatically newsworthy nor automatically suspect. Rather, it has to be judged in context. Which sounds super-reasonable. Who can be against “context” and case-by-case judgment?

But here’s the context: bad actor, cannot be given the benefit of the doubt, no matter what the case is......

For the Washington Post it might be declining to participate in so-called background briefings. For NPR, it might be refusing to report false claims by the President unless they are served as a “truth sandwich,” a suggestion recently made by Brian Stelter and Margaret Sullivan, interpreting the work of George Lakoff.

For CNN, never going live to a Trump event — on the grounds that you will inevitably broadcast falsehoods if you do — would be a good start.

Suspend normal relations. It’s up to the journalists who cover Trump to decide how they will do it. The important thing is that they do it. And then announce what they did, to get others thinking about their own steps.

In this way the sovereign state of journalism can take action, and show, as the Canadian prime minister said recently, that it will “not be pushed around.”

Al Jazeera Host Pummels Trump Adviser With Examples of His Lies: ‘The President Lies Daily’

" Trump 2020 campaign adviser Steven Rogers appeared on Al Jazeera’s UpFront Wednesday, where he faced aggressive questioning from D.C.-based host Mehdi Hasan on the president’s firing of Jeff Sessions, caravan fear-mongering, and general dishonesty. .....

...At one point in the interview, Hassan turned to Trump’s lies in office — which, according to the Washington Post tracker, currently tally more than 6,000 — listing off the president’s false claims about birthright citizenship, supposed riots in California, and new steel plants.

Hassan managed to get Rogers to concede that Trump’s claims that the United States is the only country with birthright citizenship was “false” and a “misstatement” — though he maintained that it was not a lie.....

This is ridiculous and false.

The president has undermined press freedom and endangered the lives of journalists the world over with his “fake news” and “enemy of the people” talk — language, btw, that was used by the worst mass-murdering dictators of the 20th century.

Trying to backup trump to stay on the ticket,  Pence may turn out to be a bigger liar than even his boss. LOL

Legendary Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein called on the media to

stop giving Trump "a microphone when we know that his methodology is

to engage and manipulate us on the basis of lying, propaganda and agitprop.”

No way CNN or MSNBC is going to follow that sound advise.

For one thing what would it do to CNN's rating?    Of course maybe it would improve them.  E.g. I would watch CNN more if it went back to reporting actual news instead of their large talking-head panels talking about Trump and his rhetorical nonsense.
