Vautrin--

You must be right because I bought Led Zeppelin.

But the song that Lawrence mentioned, " You Shook Me All Night Long "-- that was really a good  one.

I remember this group mainly from MTV in the 80s.

And I know I knew that they were really big in their own genre.

But when I first heard the death announcement, I thought they had said 10CC, that was more my speed. LOL

YSMANL was one of their best known tunes. The local metal/alternative station

will play an old AC/DC song occasionally, as well as old Zeppelin and Sabbath ones.

I think they flew under the radar of pop music, but were very big in metal. I guess

they were bigger than I thought because the local news had a brief segment tonight

on the death of Malcolm. I like 10cc too. Of course much different musically and lyrically.

10cc did write some witty lyrics, no doubt about it.

R.I.P  Warren "Pete" Moore (songwriter and bass vocalist, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles) - Moore was an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he co-wrote many hits with Robinson, including the two songs below.

Thanks Lawrence--

" Ooo Baby, Baby " is absolutely my favorite Smokey Robinson & The Miracles Song.

It's hard to believe that Smokey led this Top 40 group, produced records, wrote for The Temptations and The Miracles and still had time to coach the vocally challenged  Miss Diana Ross.

Warren "Pete" Moore also wrote the following Motown hits with Smokey--

The Miracles' Going To a Go-Go

And 2 for Marvin Gaye: Ain't That Peculiar and I'll Be Doggone.

The talent in Hitsville-Detroit was just unbelievable!
