Not exactly rock n roll but a great song IMO
The Outlaws did a good version of this song but i like Johnny Cash's version a little better.
Here is The Outlaws version for comparison.More electric and rocky rolly than Johnny Cash's version.
When i was in 7th grade ALL the girls loved this song,but us boys didn't think much of it.I don't feel the same way now.
For people maybe 10-15 yrs older than myself this was a song to cry over,but i used to make howling sounds and laugh every time i heard it.Made the older ppl a tad bit angry.Today I think this is the most beautiful song Elvis ever sang.
A sad "love lost" song...it is sad too.Song is about an auto accident that happened in a town in Ga.,down the road from the song writer's house.His name was Wayne Cochran who did record it,but the song didn't become a hit til J.Frank Wilson sang it in 1967.
The DC 5....COOL...VERY COOL
He'd get better results using some crazy glue to mend that ol broken heart
