Republicans just repealed law blocking mentally ill from owning guns-

The House of Representatives have just rolled back a regulation from the Obama administration, which kept people with severe mental illnesses (ex. schizophrenia or severe anxiety) from owning guns.

The House voted 235-180, declaring it a victory for the second amendment.

The National Rifle Association has long opposed the rule.

"Ryan isn’t bothered with Trump’s atrocities. He is thriving on Trump’s chaos to “slip in his own deplorable but more mundane agenda” without anyone noticing......

Paul Ryan is one taking great advantage of the Trump and his “spread” administration by advancing his plans to “phase out Medicare this year,” a highly unpopular move and stealthily work on a means of dismantling Medicaid and Social Security....

...making it legal to dump toxic coal waste into streams and waterways...

...allowing the severely mentally ill easier access to firearms;...

What a silly and ridicules post.    Ryan doesn't have executive powers.

But he is the second most powerful man in Washington, behind Steve Bannon.  Not sure where Trump actually ranks.

Ryan can get it through the House and then work with McConnell to get it through the Senate and Trump will sign it, unless Bannon tells him not to.

He can sneak it into reconcilliation budgets or other bills, etc.

Also, as Speaker of the House he has tremendous influence over the Congressional Budget Office and all the departments and agencies of the US government.

Guess What Chaffetz Just Decided To Investigate Instead Of Trump’s Russia Scandal?

...given his apparent concern over information security, the colossal implications of the Russian cyberwarfare and electronic intelligence gathering campaign against American political parties during the 2016 election and the Trump administration’s confirmed links to Russian agents should his top priority.

Chaffetz is investigating a national park over whether or not they were told in advance that they were going to be designated a national monument.

Those are Republican priorities for you.

Anger Rises Across The Country At GOP Congressional Town Halls-

http://www.npr.org/2017/02/22/516527499/anger-rises-across-the-country-at-gop-congressional-town-halls

"McConnell was met by nearly 1,000 protesters, some of whom chanted "No ban, no wall, Mitch McConnell take our call," the Associated Press reported....

McConnell:  "But in this country when you win the election you get to make policy. I always remind people, winners make policy and losers go home."

McConnell also answered questions about the GOP's plan to repeal ObamaCare and regulations on the financial industry.

One woman questioned McConnell about the many coal jobs gone from eastern Kentucky, telling him that "if you can answer any of that, I'll sit down and shut up like Elizabeth Warren."

"Donald Trump and his compliant Congress don’t care that Russia interfered with the 2016 election. Coupled with the events on the Trump/Russia Timeline, their refusal to urge creation of an independent bipartisan commission aimed at finding the whole truth renders them enemies of democracy. If Trump had nothing to hide, he’d welcome the inquiry. Along with Putin’s help, the strategy that propelled Trump to the White House yielded an excellent maxim: Brand your opponents.

The truth is that Trump’s congressional allies aren’t really Republicans. As Trump branded his opponents — “Lyin’ Ted Cruz” and “Little Marco” — during his hostile takeover of their party, he transformed it into something entirely different: the Trump Party. The victims remain oblivious to Trump’s con, or they don’t care. But they’re easy to spot,.....

Real Republicans reject the Trump Party because it is anathema to them:....

Primary elections are imminent, so time is of the essence. If a Real Republican — someone who is willing to stand up for core American values and stick to them — defeats a Trump Party incumbent in the primary, democracy wins. If that candidate goes on to prevail in the general election, the outcome will disappoint many Democrats and independents who will have to settle for what economists call the theory of the second best. But it’s far superior to third best — the loss of democracy itself.

Democrats, independents and Real Republicans must get to work now. The effort to unseat the enemies of democracy begins by stripping away their false Republican façades. It’s not name-calling; it’s who they are."

"While 45 was busy distracting us with Obama “wiretapping” tweets, Republicans were busy advancing a number of scary bills that will affect us all.

These six in particular stuck out the most…

http://www.rawprogressive.com/2017/03/05/trump-distracted-bs-tweets-gop-advanced-6-chilling-bills/

If Mr. 6666 will forgive me, I'll give a brief description of the 6 bills, for those who don't click the links:

1) HR 861 eliminates the EPA by Dec. 31, 2018

2) HR 610 repeals the 1965 Elementary & Secondary Education Act so that the DoE can only award grants. It also expands school voucher programs.

3) HR 899 eliminates the Department of Education by Dec. 31, 2018

4) HR 354 prohibits any funds from going to Planned Parenthood for one year, or until PP can prove that they no longer provide abortions.

5) HR 83 removes any federal financial assistance from cities or states that are "Sanctuary Cities" or in other ways obstruct the efforts of the immigration enforcement agencies.

6) HR 147 criminalizes abortion.

Republicans Are Hiding Their Plan To Take Away Healthcare From 10-20 Million Workers-

The Republican Obama replacement plan doesn't just repeal Obamacare and gut Medicaid. The plan would also cause 10-20 million US workers to lose their health insurance from their employers.

Very scary stuff.  Can there be any other proof needed for a real progressive that Trump is bad news?

Republicans Just Made It Easier For Companies To Exploit Workers-   They vacated an Obama executive order that would have punished federal contractors that rip off or endanger employees....

"Obama’s rule would have required companies seeking federal contracts to disclose violations of labor law — including minimum wage, overtime, and health and safety statutes— over the previous three years. Federal agencies would have been able to consider those violations when doling out contracts.....

And it is probably going to cost double, triple to reinstate all of these things that are there for the betterment of society.  It's like the Taliban has been set loose with explosives to eradicate civilization.
