GOP madness Unbound...

And it is probably going to cost double, triple to reinstate all of these things that are there for the betterment of society.  It's like the Taliban has been set loose with explosives to eradicate civilization.

Bannon calls it deconstructing the administrative government.

GOP voting to 'obliterate' class-action lawsuits-

"The Republican-controlled House voted late Thursday to approve the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act, which purports to protect consumers but does the opposite by making it harder for people to join class-action lawsuits....

What it really does is impose strict new rules on class actions that make them a lot harder to get off the ground. Not surprisingly, the bill is strongly supported by the business-boosting U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has spent millions lobbying on its behalf.

The legislation’s key provision would allow a class to be certified — that is, to receive court approval for plaintiffs to band together — only if all members “suffered the same type and scope of injury as the named class representative.”....

the Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act from Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas). It would impose mandatory fines on lawyers if a judge determines a case to be “meritless.” Judges currently have the discretion not to levy penalties in such instances and to just dismiss the lawsuit....

significantly tilting the playing field in favor of businesses doesn’t improve things.

Consider recent fraud and defective-product scandals involving Wells Fargo, Volkswagen and air bag maker Takata. Consumers and employees responded with class-action lawsuits.

Hypocrisy Unbound!  In yesterday's testimony with Comey the Republican's only concern was the leaks. What a huuuuge crime.  No mention that without the Flynn leak the potential traitor may still be privy to the nation's classified secrets.  Flynn has been exposed as a foreign agent in that he worked for the Turkish government along with Russian state sponsored companies and lied about contacts with Russia and talks about sanctions.  That should matter to all those swamp critters but somehow it doesn't.  Can you imagine the outrage if this was happening with a Clinton government?   Somehow the content of wikileaks was the only thing that mattered back then.  Not that they were illegally gained.

Senate Republicans Vote To Overturn Internet Privacy Protections-

The vote was a victory for internet providers such as AT&T Inc, Comcast Corp and Verizon Communications Inc, which had strongly opposed the rules....

"According to the rules approved by the Federal Communications Commission in October under then-President Barack Obama, internet providers would need to obtain consumer consent before using precise geolocation, financial information, health information, children’s information and web browsing history for advertising and internal marketing....

This Vox video was posted back in August 2016 but is still quite fun to watch. Here we see politicians from BOTH parties in Washington agreeing that climate change is a serious issue in the early 2000s even under a Republican president named Bush. Then we see just how wishy washy politicians can get over time. As much as we all ridicule Donald Trump for having the woman's prerogative to change her mind, so many others (Romney, McCain, Christie, Gingrich) also do a 180 degree turnaround. Was it because it became too much of a "leftist agenda"? Or because they were being PAID (as even McCain admitted earlier) by petroleum companies and other business interests? Ummm... pretty easy answer. The GOP does consist of marionettes unable to manipulate their own strings.

I have never understood the agenda of the rich when it comes to climate change. Do they plan to get in a rocket ship and escape an angry planet earth? A rocket ship to where?  TCM had "Soylent Green" on last night. This came out when I was in high school, 1973, and painted a very bad picture of the earth in 50 years - 2022. Well, here we are 5 years away from 2022 and the environment looks nothing like that, I would say thanks largely to the efforts of the EPA - you know, one of those agencies that the GOP believes we don't need. I had a 7th grade teacher from L.A. - this was early 70s - and she said, at the time, that the  pollution was so bad there that when she went back for a visit her eyes would be watering from all of the pollution in the air by 10AM. I do not think that is the case today.

Not to get into a lot of religious talk, but... many of these politicians have VERY strong opinions there and their belief system is not compatible with "eastern views" of reincarnation. Bottom line: they just know the Earth won't get too warm in THEIR life times. Let it be a problem for future generations that they aren't terribly concerned about once they reach the pearly gates of heaven.

That is... unless they are reincarnated back onto the same Earth they left in a previous life and helped make all the more toastier...

S.C. legislature is debating (and will probably pass) law that anyone who can "legally" purchase a gun can carry it concealed or open.   No longer a need for concealed weapons permit or for training to get one.

You have to understand that the very rich, those who work for corporations and the politicians they support are motivated by GREED.  The success of their greed is more money, more houses, more airplanes, more boats, ad infinitum and right now.

- thanks, TheCid, for mentioning the following....

Two South Carolina lawmakers prepping survivalist communities to 'restore the fabric of America'-

Virtue Solution Project,” a group that is seeking to either save America or survive a societal collapse, which they both believe is likely coming...

They are advocating that their followers, and offshoot groups, form their own communities that will no longer have to rely on corporate America or the “tyrannical” federal government. They are encouraging neighbors to support “principled men” — such as themselves — who are willing to nullify laws and court rulings they don’t agree with, like abortion, gay marriage, gun restrictions and federal standards for driver's licenses......

Five Ways Cybersecurity Will Suffer If Congress Repeals the FCC Privacy Rules-

Senate Republicans Just Slashed Retirement Help For Low Income Americans-

"The myRA program was designed to give low income workers a choice for how they want to save for retirement....

Sen. Elizabeth Warren:

“[The years Republicans] haven’t put up for a vote … a single piece of original legislation to help working families.

“For years, the Republican-controlled Congress has done nothing to help the 55 million Americans who don’t have an employer-provided retirement plan.”

OK, I don't hear it and Graham began as my representative in Congress before becoming a US Senator so I am pretty familiar with everything said about him.  This is not the first time this "concern" has come up in state politics.

Don't know who these nuts are, but they infered something Huckabee did not imply, much less state.

"Which uniform" could mean Dem vs. GOP, Air Force vs. Senator, Conservative vs. Liberal, etc.

FYI:  Lindsay Graham has never been married and has no children.

Might add that FIVE hard right Republcans ran against him in the S.C.  GOP primary in 2014 and he got over 50% of the primary vote.

I am not defending Graham, but by S.C. standards he is more moderate than most.  Of course, he is far too deeply into supporting the Military-Industrial-Political Complex and all it wants.

Does he lie?  He's a politician playing a political game.

Huckaboo is so obsessed with anything "gay" (and this guy literally thinks about what gay men and lesbians do behind closed doors practically every day and in his dreams) that he likely was insinuating EXACTLY what folks think he was insinuating. This is the same guy who insisted that, if transgender men should be allowed into a ladies restroom, then he too should be allowed to play "dress up" so he can take a peek at the ladies in the stalls. As if that is something transgenders go to restrooms to do.

Of course, when Kim Davis refused to sign same-sex marriage certificates, Huckaboo raced to her side like a hound dog after a pork chop. Lindsey Graham put Huckaboo in his place at the second GOP debate in September 2015 and you can tell that Huckaboo wasn't a happy camper. To Huckaboo, to consider gays "human" and allowed equal rights under the constitution is totally un-Republican.

If you watch it to the end it gets pretty hilarious when they expose Graham's utter hypocrisy concerning the Supreme Court Justice vote.
