Before and After Obama: 10 Signs of a Diminished America

6. Government Debt: The national debt was $10.6 trillion when Obama took office, while complaining that George W. Bush’s deficits were not only too high, they were downright unpatriotic.

“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents. Number 43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic,” Barack Obama declared in 2008.

Obama would go on to add more debt than Bush in just three years of his spendthrift presidency. He leaves office with a national debt of $19.7 trillion, coming just shy of doubling the debt all by himself… and all we got for it was a mediocre economy, dwindling workforce, and sky-high welfare dependency. And the annual deficit started getting worse again in his last year, hitting $587 billion in fiscal year 2016, nuking Obama’s laughable claim to be a deficit-fighter.

The national debt issue during the presidential campaign seem to have been kicked to the curb. Neither Trump or Hillary to seriously addressed the issue (if they did - didn't hear it.)  No one is going to do anything about it.

Waiting for the ticking time bomb to go boom.

Dumbya doubled the national debt too. I wouldn't

be surprised if Trump does the same if he is in

office for eight years.

They're still using the long discredited 95 million

number for the workforce number, when most of

them are too young or too old to be in the workforce.

Some 85 year old guy who has been retired for

twenty years is included. Clueless.

The amount the national debt goes up during an administration can be due to a president's policies or from policies from previous administrations. Or a combination. In Obama's case, the increase was mostly legacy debt that he inherited. Mainly from the hapless and horrible "W", but we're still paying off Reagan's debt. He got  W's off-budget wars, unpaid for tax cuts, unpaid Medicare prescription plan, and Bush's Great Recession. Don't blame Obama, blame the guy you most likely voted for twice.

Sorry, I'm not buying internet media claims.

The people of the US love Obama.

At most, the average person is disappointed he couldn't get more accomplished, but most realize the dynamics of politics.

Obama's legacy will be positive- as the first black President who constantly was up against racism. Racism, sadly still in the US and worse, still in our government!

Obama (and the first lady) were knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate with so much class & poise. I was proud they represented the American people because I value those qualities.

Absolutely. Let's not forget something else about Obama - his dry standup comedy delivery of pungent sarcastic one liners. Here's a look at Obama at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner when Trump, sitting in the audience, got a better roasting by the President than any of the duck or chicken served there that night. Something else I liked about Obama - unlike the present occupant of the Oval Office, he had the ability to poke fun at himself.

Yes. A pretty man with pretty talk.

No real change of any kind - unless you count making the world a little worse.

But he sounds nice. That's the important thing.

You're either a hard core reactionary right-winger or you're so far to the left that you end up where the hard right and hard left meet. Ex. hard core Bernie dead enders, Glenn Greenwald-types, etc.

Nonsense. Reagan's debt? No the debt is all his with his liberal dispensation of money for every liberal agenda available.

Obama sued businesses, stalled construction projects, shut down oil drilling, catered to the Castro brothers, and ruined the economy. That is why the stock market has taken off since Trump was elected. They finally have someone who knows what an economy is for.

Plus the negative impact Obamacare had on small business causing many to close their doors.

This part of the dictatorial ACA will soon be history.

Why did the stock market nearly triple while Obama was President?

PS:  One major reason for the rise in the Market in the last 4 or so months is because of the increase in the Treasury interest rate.    This caused billions to be moved from Bonds into the Market.

Obama's final tally: 333 rounds of golf as POTUS

Barack Obama exited the White House Friday, and thus ended his two terms in office.

The 44th president often spent his leisure and vacation time on the golf course, especially during his second term in office.

According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, Obama played 333 rounds as president. Obama's last round came on December 31 while on vacation in Hawaii. Knoller tweeted it was Obama's 46th round of his final year in office.

**************************************************************

Obama wasted 333 days playing golf, and wonders why he never got anything done, why the economy kept getting worse. He was as bad at being a President as he was a golfer.

I guess that's the comforting thing about clinging to one's partisan vision. Obama attackers never let facts get in the way of their hatred.

Trump has got a far healthier economy in which to create jobs than the one Obama had inherited in 2008. Think an Obama hater will give him any credit for that? Nah, not a chance.

MM is a wingnut supreme, living in his own separate fact free

reality. That's why he has been harping on Obama's golf

outings for the last few years, despite the fact that they're

irrelevant to anything else. Crazy as a bedbug.

I just happened to read a short article on golfing presidents.

Most do. In the last 120 years, there were only four POTUS

who didn't hit the little white ball around. Obama is the only

president who plays left-handed, and compared to Ike, Obama

is an amateur--Eisenhower played about 800 rounds of golf

in his eight years in office. This was a surprise to me--the

golfiest POTUS in history was....Woodrow Wilson. He played

about 1,200 rounds and was such a fanatic he painted his

golf ball black so he could play in the snow. Maybe he should

have had Eighteen Points.

Alternate facts queen Kellyanne Conway now refers to the "Bowling Green Massacre" as justification for Trump's travel ban of Muslims. To be fair, perhaps it isn't fair to blame Kellyanne for this fictional massacre statement. Maybe she's still dizzy from getting wacked in the head by one of Obama's golf balls.

Truly.

With all the actual, factual evidence at hand for Obama's really poor Presidency, it's laughable that the dumb and lazy go with "golfing" to make the point, isn't it.
