two thoughts about "Elevator to the Gallows" (spoilers)

1 post in this topic

I'm watching the 1950s French noir Elevator to the Gallows now (probably my 10th viewing or something).

I love this movie, but there are two things which should have been handled differently:

1. Supposedly this was a perfect crime, but yet Tavernier had to scale the wall outside of the building and he might have been seen by people passing by.

2. The girlfriend didn't want anyone to know that she and Tavernier were involved, but yet when she spent that night looking for him, she asked so many people if they had seen him. Wouldn't that give her away? Later, she tells that cop that she barely knows the guy, but lots of people in the area could prove differently.
