Porkey in Wackyland

Anyone remember this Porkey Pig cartoon? Very surreal and had him go to 'deepest darkest Africa' in search of some bird or something, that would walk through occasionally and say "mammy"???

Well it was pretty wacky, I'll give it that.

But for pure surreal delight, the best animated short for my money would be Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land. I remember they showed a 16mm print at school once, it was quite a trip.

"Porky In Wackyland" was directed by Bob Clampett. It was remade in color in 1949 by Friz Freleng as "Dough for the Do-Do" and that is the more accessible version today.

I saw Mathmagic in 7th grade math. My teacher didn't feel like teaching anymore, so he just brought the tape in and said he'd be at the teacher's lounge if there was a problem.

That was probably the one bright spot in my day.
