Good try oh, but there is no National Emergency at the southern border. trump has already said so in public himself.

He's already lost Ann Coulter, so he might as well just forget about it.

I can't believe how he tried to move Heaven and Earth to please that one woman's opinion.

trump must be very afraid of Ann.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

Winston Churchill

I think he was thinking of communism when he said that.

Socialism is the transitional stage to Communism.

Socialists can be pro- or anti-market. They may consider the ultimate goal to be revolution and the abolition of social classes, or they may seek more pragmatic outcomes: universal healthcare, for example, or a universal pension scheme. Social Security is a socialist policy that has been adopted in the unabashedly capitalist United States (as are the eight-hour working day, free public education and arguably universal suffrage). Socialists may run for election, forming coalitions with non-socialist parties, as they do in Europe, or they may govern as authoritarians, as the Chavista regime does in Venezuela.

Maybe the US is on it's transitional stage now.

Democratic socialism does not lead to communism.

If it did, there'd be all kinds of communist countries in the world, including mine.

Canada is not Socialist and if AOC or Bernie support a Canadian type system or FDR's policies then they should just say so instead of calling themselves "Socialist." Most Americans are turned off by that word and would not vote for someone calling themselves that. It's also an easy way for right wing politicians to paint them in a bad light. Most voters are not going to look up the difference between Social Democracy and Socialism. To them it is all the same.

Canada is a hybrid of capitalism and democratic socialism. That's why we have it so good up here.

Everything you people are still fighting about we've had for many, many years.

I don't see the Democratic Socialist of America changing their name.    Note that their logo is Red;  that could also confuse folks:

If they wanted to actually win anything they would. Just look at how the right wingers here think Social Democracy and Keynesianism is literal Marxism. That's pretty much how the average voter feels about that word. Either way, it's not as if I care because AOC is a complete moron.

What Nietzsche said of Socialism in "Beyond Good and Evil"

http://nietzsche.holtof.com/reader/friedrich-nietzsche/beyond-good-and-evil/aphorism-203-quote_d6811e6a3.html

The overall degeneration of man, down to what nowadays shows up in the socialist fools and flat heads, as their "man of the future" - as their ideal! - this degeneration and diminution of man to a perfect herd animal (or, as they say, to a man of "free society"), this beastialization of man into a dwarf animal of equal rights and claims is possible - no doubt of that! Anyone who has once thought this possibility through to the end understands one more horror than the remaining men - and perhaps a new task, as well! . . . .
