The likes of Walmart, Home Depot, McDonald's, and Burger King just to name a few, have gotten rid of most of the mom and pops in my neck of the woods already years ago.

 

American capitalism is not kind to the "Moms and Pops" stores and products unless they evolve into Mega Franchises like the Krocs' McDonald's or Sam Walton's Walmart.

 

Everybody knows that American capitalism is dog-eat-dog - - competition is King.
