'Most Implausible Alibi I've Ever Heard': Trump Ridiculed for Blaming Rick Perry for Ukraine Call

"So the call was perfect. But the call was also Rick Perry's idea and Trump didn't want to do it. And Rick Perry is leaving the administration soon. Weird."

".....But he then threw Perry into the mix and said something to the effect of: 'Not a lot of people know this but, I didn't even want to make the call. The only reason I made the call was because Rick asked me to. Something about an LNG [liquified natural gas] plant,'" Axios reported, citing one source's recollection of the president's remarks.

"Another source on the call, according to Axios, "said Trump added that 'more of this will be coming out in the next few days'—referring to Perry," who is reportedly planning to leave the White House by the end of November....

Trump's claim that Perry is responsible for the Ukraine conversation is "contradicted by text messages released earlier this week between top U.S. diplomats and Andrey Yermak, an aide to Zelensky, which suggest Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was a primary advocate for arranging the call."

Critics were not impressed by Trump's attempt to deflect blame for the call........

Sen. Romney criticized Pres. Trump,

tweeting that Trump's "appeal to China and Ukraine to investigate the Joe Biden is wrong and appalling."

The president responded in his own tweet, labeling the senator "pompous"

and calling for the impeachment of Romney.

First it was Congressman Adam Schiff, now it's Senator Mitt Romney--

trump has called for their impeachment because they don't approve of him defiling the Constitution.

Obviously, trump has never read the Constitution or has no understanding of it.

What a guy!

Analysis: President Trump hands over northern Syria to Turkey

"....The latest White House statement never once mentioned the contribution of those SDF combatants – the vast majority made up of Syrian-Kurdish YPG fighters

-- and took sole U.S. credit for defeating the ISIS territorial "Caliphate."

Now it appears the Trump administration is abandoning those Kurdish allies altogether, in favor of the Kurds' nemesis, the Turkish government. Turkey has been fighting separatist Kurds across the border inside its own territory for decades, and in recent years has incurred several times into Syria to fight against Syrian Kurds.

For Donald Trump to hand the fate of Syria's Kurds over to their sworn enemy Turkey

not only represents a major disservice to the people who did more to defeat ISIS in Syria than anyone else,

but it also sends an ominous message to any group who would ever consider allying themselves to the United States in the future.....

OFFICIAL WHO HEARD CALL SAYS TRUMP GOT 'ROLLED' BY TURKEY AND 'HAS NO SPINE'

"President Trump was definitely out-negotiated and only endorsed the troop withdraw to make it look like we are getting something—but we are not getting something," the National Security Council source told Newsweek. "The U.S. national security has entered a state of increased danger for decades to come because the president has no spine and that's the bottom line."......

Trump's sudden withdraw order could undercut strategic U.S. alliances with regional allies; free Russia and Iran to re-establish a full military presence and solid footing in the Mediterranean; and leave U.S.-backed Kurdish fighters vulnerable to being decimated by a Turkish air campaign.

A complete withdrawal could also potentially give up a valuable regional position to American military forces that threaten United States interests in the region, including the interests of allies such as Israel and, to some extent, Jordan.

The National Security Council official compared Turkey to "playground bullies" on Monday.

"When the bigger guy [United States] moves aside in the playground, they [Turkey] get to beat on the smaller guy [Syrian Defense Forces] and this is not about the U.S. being the world police," the National Security Council source told Newsweek.

"We are telling the world, we will use you and then throw you away," the official added. "It's not like they don't have a television in Asia, in Africa, and South America."

Wow. The Open Skies Treaty has kept the peace in the post-Cold-War era,

ensuring that western countries can & do monitor Russian military activities from the sky.

Backing out is a huge gift to Putin.

Trump is a chaos agent backed into a corner - a very dangerous combo.

While trump has his Extreme right-wing supporters terrified over some pregnant Latino women and their babies coming over here crossing the southern border,

he is giving away our national security to Putin and the Russians on a silver platter.

".......William Perry Pendley, who has explicitly stated that he does not believe public lands should exist. Earlier this year,

he tweeted that selling federal land to build the wall “is what the Founders intended!”

When it comes to public lands, it’s easy to mistake the Trump administration’s blatant acts as the beginning of a new era, rather than an acceleration of established patterns, just as, with the wall, it’s easy to see things through the particularly exaggerated cruelty of Trump policies and forget that the criminalization of immigration began long before.....

“today with Trump, it’s not so quiet — it’s all out in the open. The corruption, and the avarice, and the violence of public lands policy is now out there for all to behold. We don’t have the quiet neoliberal caretaker providing cover for industry.” ......

I wonder what Teddy Roosevelt would do if he ever got a hold of this William Perry Pendley?

Chaos in Syria, Washington after Trump call with Erdogan unleashed Turkish military

U.S. forces in Syria got an urgent alert Monday morning to pull back. "They were told, 'We're departing the field,'" senior U.S. defense officials said.

........ the White House's announcement of the decision late Sunday night blindsided not just America's Kurdish partners in the fight against the Islamic State militant group, or ISIS, in Syria,

but almost everyone — senior officials at the Pentagon, the State Department and the White House, lawmakers on Capitol Hill, and U.S. allies in Europe and the Middle East. .......

"Even Trump is starting to realize that maybe he didn't handle this too well, and is maybe trying to walk it back," the official said. "I think you're going to see some backpedaling." .....
