Former campaign staffer alleges in lawsuit that Trump kissed her without her consent. The White House denies the charge.
In interviews with The Washington Post, and in the lawsuit, Alva Johnson said Trump grabbed her hand and leaned in to kiss her on the lips as he exited an RV outside the rally in Tampa on Aug. 24, 2016. Johnson said she turned her head and the unwanted kiss landed on the side of her mouth.

It's the same old song.

Katy Tur, the NBC reporter who covered the trump campaign, reported a similar incident that happened to her as recounted in her book,

Unbelievable:

My front row seat to the craziest campaign in American History.

Yes,  a song that failed to gain enough listeners in 2016.

PS:  Trump and his staff will just use this story as proof he isn't a racist.

Bernie Sanders Asks the Right Question on Reparations:

What Does It Mean?

"........By asking Blitzer to define what reparations actually means, Sanders shifted the conversation from speculative rhetoric to practical policy ......

The preliminary questions journalists should ask instead of “do you support reparations?” are these:

1) Will you commit to meaningfully researching and developing a plan for reparations, and 2) If and when you develop a policy, will you commit to implementing it?

I suspect most candidates would have a much easier time answering “yes” to this formulation, and rightly so. At this point, every candidate who has opined has done a solid job of articulating the why of reparations: slavery, Jim Crow, disparities.

Now the question worth asking is the how. .........

".......Obama, a lawyer, should know better than to argue that the statute of limitations on reparations had lapsed when a timely claim had been made. But in truth, there are now legitimate (but not insurmountable) logistical concerns to administering a race-specific plan.

How do you account for people who are only partially descended from American slaves? What about those who can’t prove their lineage? What about families who immigrated early enough to experience Jim Crow, but after slavery? Is the most politically viable way to deliver material benefits to black Americans via intersectionally designed universal programs?

These questions are crucial to anyone serious about pursuing reparations. And, it could be argued, they’re the questions that a genuine supporter of reparations wants to explore....."

Are people really that clueless;  this is primary season (yea,  it started early!),  and candidates push for all sorts of things;  the odds are high none of them will be implemented.

Note that when the Dems had majorities in the House and Senate during the first 2 years of Obama's first term the only substantial legislation that was passed was the ACA.    The GOP with Trump was only able to pass major tax reform.

Assuming Dems gain similar control after the 2020 election AND could pass TWO major bills,   reparations wouldn't be one of the priorities (and shouldn't be),  but instead immigration reform,  healthcare bill (Medicare for all???), bank and wall street reform,  climate change bill,  and many others would be.

So this talk about reparations is just empty pandering!

Kamala Harris is aiming to lock down California with new statewide endorsements

FYI:  Today's L.A. Times has an article about Harris that is related to the thread topic here (unlike the one you posted);

"Files outline harassment claims in Harris' DOJ - The department paid more than 1.1 million to settle cases brought during her tenure".

The largest payout was to settle a 2016 lawsuit involving Harris' long time, close top aide,  Larry Wallace.   Harris claims to not know what he was doing,  but few believe her.

Look who's on the cover of the Rolling Stone!

Do you really believe Pelosi likes the two next to her?    One has threatened to primary out DINOs and the other has been making anti-Israel comments (factual ones but that doesn't matter).

Hillary probably figures she already won the election once — after all, you cheated, lost the popular vote, and had to get the help of the Russians AND the FBI in order to “win” — so she didn’t need to win again.

Spoke to someone close with Clinton in contact with her today. They say she wasn’t trying to be emphatic and close the door on running when she spoke to a local reporter yesterday, and that she was surprised by how definitively it played.

The person also says she is extremely unlikely to run, but that she remains bothered that she’s expected to close the door on it when, say, John Kerry isn’t. She has told her team she is waiting at least to see the Mueller report.
