"Death In Venice" - Luchino Viscounti

1 post in this topic

It is a very brave film - and it is absolutely true to the original -

its austerity and its beauty - and its slow and deliberate pacing - only add to the film's undeniable power.

a man, who has chased beauty all his life, finally finds it - in the person of a boy -

but the attraction is not sexual in any way -

it is an intense appreciation of a lifelong "ideal".
