Canada's Trudeau corrects woman for using 'mankind' at town hall

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau corrected a woman on her language when she asked a question during a town hall Friday.

The unidentified woman asked Trudeau whether the Canadian government could ease regulations on volunteering with religious organizations, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

"So, that’s why we came here today to ask you, to also look into the policies that religious charitable organizations have in our legislation so that it can also be changed because maternal love is the love that’s going to change the future of mankind,” said the woman, who was reportedly affiliated with the World Mission Society Church of God.

Trudeau immediately corrected her.

“We like to say ‘peoplekind,' not necessarily ‘mankind,' because it’s more inclusive,” he said.

Justin should stick to reading comic books, this political correctness thing is way out of hand.

Trudeau writes off peoplekind quip as 'dumb joke'

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says using the word "peoplekind" instead of "mankind" during a town hall in Edmonton last week was his failed attempt at humour.

Trudeau has been mocked on social media and talk shows since using the word.

Before holding a Liberal caucus meeting on Parliament Hill today, Trudeau told reporters he doesn't necessarily have the best track record on jokes.

"I made a dumb joke a few days ago that seems to have gone a little viral in the room, on the peoplekind comment," he said. "It played well in the room and in context. Out of context it doesn't play so well, and it's a little reminder that I shouldn't be making jokes even when I think they're funny."

*************************************************

Now little Justin Trudeau has to lie about his being politically correct during a town hall meeting, and he thinks everyone is dumb enough to believe him.

"British TV broadcaster Piers Morgan called Trudeau a "Chief PC Plonker," accusing him of killing off mankind. Australian columnist Rita Panahi called him the "Kim Kardashian of political leaders; an all-style, no-substance himbo with all the depth of a puddle."

Jokes included pictures posted of comic superhero Batman changing his name to "Batperson" and suggestions that Manitoba become "Peopletoba."

I wonder if Justin can spell potato.

That particular (feminist) church has as part of its dogma the belief in "God the Mother," so I think it was appropriate and kind of amusing that Trudeau said what he did.

Justin Trudeau makes all of our politicians seem like Einstein's. Even Bush and Obama were brighter than this.

New poll shows deterioration in approval ratings for Trudeau Liberals

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a lot more in common with Stephen Harper than he would probably like when it comes to his job approval score, a new poll shows.

More Canadians than ever before dislike Mr. Trudeau's Liberal government, whose approval ratings are now identical to Mr. Harper's before the last election, according to a new poll being released on Monday by Nanos Research and the Institute for Research on Public Policy.

The share of Canadians who say Mr. Trudeau's government is doing a bad job has jumped to 39 per cent from 33 per cent a year ago and 23 per cent in 2015, according to the annual Mood of Canada survey, conducted in late December.

A year of ethical lapses and the botched rollout of small business tax changes have taken a toll. It is the second consecutive year of falling job approval ratings for Mr. Trudeau in the annual survey, and a sharp deterioration compared with his early postelection ratings honeymoon in 2015.

Hundreds of scientists demand improved Canadian pollution laws in letter to Justin Trudeau

The letter is signed by more than 540 scientists and doctors from across Canada, telling Trudeau this is a “once-in-a-generation opportunity to curb pollution, save lives, protect the environment, boost the economy and improve the quality of life for all Canadians.”

“Canada has a serious pollution problem that is a threat to both human health and the quality of our environment,” it says.

Canada, says the letter, is the only industrialized country in the world without legally binding, and enforceable, air quality standards. Canada sets ambient air quality standards under CEPA, including objectives for substances like ozone and sulphur dioxide, but the standards are voluntary and don’t make mention of some of the most troubling pollutants like cadmium and benzene.

Diamond said there are standards at the provincial level, but they are very uneven and it shouldn’t be that someone in one province has less protection from polluted air than someone in another province.

*********************************************

When 540 "scientists" have to write a letter to Justin Trudeau telling him to stop polluting, you know things are bad in Canada. It doesn't even mention all the sewage he has allowed to be dumped into our coastal waters.

Yup, Trump sure looks like an environmental genius, alright - if his objective is to thin out the population of America

Scott Pruitt is slowly strangling the EPA

Pruitt’s posters are a list of the regulatory rollbacks he’s delivered to his allies in coal, oil, gas, and chemicals industries. These gifts include the reversal of a ban on chlorpyrifos, a pesticide linked to developmental problems in children.

Some of the biggest changes Pruitt has made at the EPA have come by not doing anything at all. He’s steering the EPA’s work at an agonizingly slow pace, delaying and slowing the implementation of laws and running interference for many of the sectors EPA is supposed to regulate.

“People will get sick and die,” Christine Todd Whitman, who served as EPA administrator under President George W. Bush, told Vox. “It’s that simple.” Some 230,000 Americans already die each year due to hazardous chemical exposures. “You stop enforcing those regulations and that number will go way up,” she said.

Canada's Trudeau spurs criticism, raises eyebrows on India trip

OTTAWA/NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Canadian and Indian officials scrambled on Thursday to explain how a convicted Sikh extremist was invited to a New Delhi reception for Justin Trudeau, the latest misstep in the Canadian prime minister’s bumpy eight-day trip to India.

The tour has been overshadowed by suggestions of a lukewarm reception by the government and a series of photo ops featuring the Trudeau family in coordinated Indian attire that have raised eyebrows in both countries.

The latest flashpoint, a swiftly cancelled invitation by the Canadian delegation to Jaspal Atwal -- convicted in 1986 of the attempted murder of an Indian politician visiting Canada -- came just days after Trudeau had assured his hosts he would not support anyone trying to revive a separatist movement in India.

The trip, partly aimed at shoring up support for Trudeau’s Liberals among the politically important ethnic vote in key regions, has also been criticized for being light on official government business.

Yeh, these Trudeau "blunders" in India are really monumental, aren't they? The world must really be shaking its head over it.

You Americans are so fortunate to not have anyone in your highest office that could ever be an international embarrassment. I particularly like the way your President constantly stands up to the Russians and makes it apparent to them the severe consequences should they ever interfere in any American elections again. The Russians wouldn't dare laugh at America when you have that man in the Oval Office, would they?

What a truly united nation you have become under Trump The Unifer!

Justin Trudeau’s Celebrity Schtick Has Finally Blown Up in His Face

Why did Justin Trudeau go to India? I am sure at this point that even the prime minister has been asking himself that question all week.

Nobody seems to know. It isn’t to ink any major trade deal—those negotiations have been going on since at least 2010, and there is no immediate end in sight. It was also suggested that this trip might be aimed at soothing Indian security concerns about Khalistani nationalism among Canadian Sikhs, or some other foreign policy purpose. And then there is the cynical hypothesis: that this is a royal family vacation on the public dime, largely undertaken to get lavish photo-ops for the next federal election. Harsh, admittedly—but it would explain why the Trudeaus brought their own celebrity chef.

Of course, as you would expect, the cynics were wrong: the photo ops were actually quite terrible. Trudeau apparently insisted on saving all his actual state-level discussions for the end of his trip, which sparked rumours among the international press that the Canadian prime minister was being “snubbed” by the Indian government. Then, the Trudeaus were dragged on Indian (and Canadian) social media because the whole family kept showing up everywhere dressed in elaborate Indian formal wear. Try imagining Indian PM Narendra Modi hanging out in Ottawa for a week alternately dressed like a cowboy or a Mountie or a French-Canadian biker, and you have some idea of how obnoxious it was to watch Justin Trudeau traipse around the subcontinent playing ethnic dress-up.

***********************************************

Justin Trudeau is so out of touch he had a celebrity chef go along on the trip and wore fake clothes. No wonder his poll numbers are crashing.

WHOA now, dude! Don't overstate your case here now!

Trust me here. I've seen Canada's little s t u d muffin PM speak off-the-cuff during televised press conferences while up in BC visiting relatives, and yeah, while what I saw of the guy didn't impress me much, your and unfortunately my man-child-in-chief Donny STILL impresses ME even LESS whenever I see him attempt to articulate any sort of a reasonable and intelligent thought.

Sooooo, like I said, don't overstate your case here, dude.

(...aaah, but then again, this IS what you Righty nutcases usually do, isn't it...and usually by means of overly simplistic and simpleminded words and expressions, and just like the one above of yours which spurred me to this reply)

Trudeau's India trip is a total disaster — and he has only himself to blame

I confess, from afar, I used to be a Trudeau fan-girl. But after this trip, I’ve changed my mind. Trudeau has come across as flighty and facetious. His orchestrated dance moves and multiple costume changes in heavily embroidered kurtas and sherwanis make him look more like an actor on a movie set or a guest at a wedding than a politician who is here to talk business. Suddenly, all that charisma and cuteness seem constructed, manufactured and, above all, not serious.

“He seems more much more convinced of his own rock-star status than we ever were,” said one official in the Indian government who preferred to remain anonymous.

Indians are also wondering, what is Trudeau doing here for so long? Doesn’t he have a country to run?

The length of Trudeau’s stay may help explain why the trip started on a discordant note. Government sources tell me India urged Canada to cut the trip shorter or to at least sequence it differently. India wanted to start the trip with political talks before Trudeau played tourist. The Canadians disagreed.

So next time you come to India, Prime Minister Trudeau, do try and leave the terrorists — and the wedding kurtas — at home.

Maybe Justin Trudeau can dress up as Santa Claus and visit the North Pole on the way back.

Mr. Trudeau, your electorate needs you

Your electorate misses you, and while gallivanting around the globe to exotic destinations, playing dressup and getting your picture taken might be more fun, you still have a real job in the public service back here in the Great White North, and Canadians need you urgently to be this nation’s leader.

No more escapism; no more PC narratives. Wrestle with real national issues. Tackle that national debt. Answer hard-hitting questions directly in the House of Commons. Now is your time to shine.

Lot's of unhappy campers up in Canada, no wonder.

Trump Jr outshines Trudeau – that’s how bad India-Canada ties are

Events have a way of surprising you. When it was announced that Donald Trump Jr.and Justin Trudeau would visit India at roughly the same time, Indians prepared to see what gaffes the younger Trump would commit. Trudeau, on the other hand, was expected to wow India with his charisma and youthful charm.

It simply hasn’t worked out that way.

The junior Trump stuck to business events and largely kept his mouth shut, but the Trudeau visit, on the other hand, has been a fiasco. And the Canadian prime minister himself has been treated as a joke by Indians; as a man who is tone-deaf to cultural sensitivities and is either genuinely foolish or is cynically playing to his vote-bank in Canada where Sikhs of Indian origin are part of his base.

Some of Trudeau’s problems in India should have been anticipated. Many stem from the baggage of history and would have arisen no matter who the Canadian leader was. But so dazzling is Trudeau’s global image that it blinded many Indians to the reality of the India-Canada relationship.

Poor Canadians ruined their reputation with Trudeau.

Yes, indeed, all of Canada's reputation has been ruined because of Trudeau's India trip. Those outfits he wore, WOW, the shame all Canadians must feel.

Americans, however, are now allowed to proudly stand so tall in world opinion because of its illustrious leader, aren't they?

World's confidence in US leadership under Trump at new low, poll finds

Global confidence in US leadership has fallen to a new low, and the country now ranks below China in worldwide approval ratings, according to a new Gallup poll.

The survey of opinion in 134 countries showed a record collapse in approval for the US role in the world, from 48% under Obama to 30% after one year of Donald Trump the lowest level Gallup has recorded since beginning its global leadership poll over a decade ago.

India slams Canadian PM Justin Trudeau for Atwal visa slur

NEW DELHI: India slammed as "baseless and unacceptable" on Wednesday a comment by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggesting that former Khalistani terrorist Jaspal Atwal was given a visa as a section of the Indian government wanted to embarrass his government.

Opposition MPs questioned Trudeau in parliament on Tuesday about invitations issued to Atwal - convicted of attempting to assassinate a Punjab minister in 1986 - to attend two events with him in India.

National security adviser Daniel Jean's "anonymous" media briefing last week suggested that Atwal's presence was arranged by "factions within the Indian government who want to prevent PM Narendra Modi from getting too cosy with a foreign government they believe is not committed to a united India". "Does the PM agree with those allegations?" asked opposition leader Andrew Scheer.

A Canadian newspaper said opposition MPs demanded “proof” from Prime Minister Trudeau to back up his government’s allegations.

New Democrat MP Charlie Angus accused Trudeau of using a senior civil servant to “spin a conspiracy theory that somehow the Indian government is trying to make the Liberals look bad”.

Trudeau's Embarrassing Trip To India Is Going To Cost Canada A Lot Of Money

Chickpea tarrifs rose from 44% to 60% overnight and a bunch of opposing MPs say that it's completely because of the controversy with Jaspal Atwal.

Conservative House Leader Candice Bergen is pretty convinced that tarrifs are raising because of the way that Trudeau acted.

She said that : “The Indian government said yesterday that the chickpea tariff increase was due to circumstances that make it necessary to take immediate action. Well, we all know what circumstances they are referring to”.

Bergen called the tariff “a clear signal that India is understandably upset, and Canadian chickpea producers are the first to pay the price”.

Now even the chickpeas have to suffer thanks to Trudeau.

Gatecrashers and a run on the Crown Royal

There were even more gaffes on that infamous trip to India last month by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau than previously reported.

As if the widely denigrated extended photo-op tour, and the inclusion of a convicted terrorist on some invitation lists wasn’t bad enough, the National Post has learned of a ruckus at the gates of the Canadian High Commissioner’s residence during the tour and further reports of MPs in the prime minister’s entourage posing with a former politician with unsavoury connections. Beyond that, the trip was a complete disappointment from the perspective of some of those keen to make business connections — “just a mess,” says a disappointed businessman who was there.

The atmosphere at the reception at the residence of Nadir Patel, the Canadian High Commissioner to India, was more like “spring break” than a formal diplomatic party, according to one attendee, who said there was so much heavy drinking that the bar ran out of Crown Royal within the first hour.

Justin Trudeau keeps saying science minister is a Nobel Prize winner; she’s not

For the second time in two days, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau touted the credentials of Science Minister Kirsty Duncan by saying she is a “Nobel Prize-winning scientist.”

There’s just one problem — she is not.

Duncan has taught health studies as an associate professor at the University of Toronto, holds a doctorate in geography from the University of Edinburgh and has lectured around the world on issues including pandemic preparedness and climate change.

She describes herself as a medical geographer who has focused on the connections between environmental change, pandemic influenza and human health.
