Not enough Noir?

7 posts in this topic

Are there not enough Noir films that prevents Noir Alley from being on every Sunday?

I have grown accustomed to making it part of my Sunday at 10 am and there are sometimes weeks where it is not aired.

Even if it can't be hosted every week can we at least watch a Noir film Sundays at 10am?

It's not on in February because of the 31 Days of Oscar month-long programming. The same thing will happen in August with Summer Under the Stars programming. Noir Alley, Silent Sundays, TCM Underground, all of those weekly features disappear during those two months.

Noir Alley will return in March, along with an additional Noir Alley showing on Saturday nights at midnight, Eastern Time.

But if you think about it

Naked City, In A Lonely Place and The Third Man,won Oscars and Mistery Street was nominated, there may be others, so they could have worked Oscars into the program

Or noir into TCM's Oscar programming.    Yea,   they could have done so and should have.

Add White Heat and Key Largo to Oscar Noirs

I assume there is at least 50 noirs that received Oscar nominations if one moves beyond the top 5 category.
