Count me in as another one who doesn't like Oscar month.

Some of the most interesting films have never

 received an oscar nomination.

Of course, my opinion....is....open to scrutiny.

I am somewhat ambivalent these days about TCMs 31 Days of Oscar.
When it was first initiated I was quite grateful for it, as it granted me an additional opportunity to re-watch (and DVR) a lot of my old favorites. And they always included a "premier" or two (that they sadly never seem to rebroadcast).
But as several long-time posters here have frequently bemoaned, they are sure to show many of the same "Oscar" films year after year, with little variance. So I can understand why some would consider "Oscar month" to be a time to take a vacation from watching so much (too much) TCM.  And there is nothing wrong with that.

But I am still reminded that there are always "new" viewers coming to TCM that may have never seen these movies (or not yet seen them so often to grow tired of them). So for them, I am willing to "grin and bear it."

Actually, I don't really mind seeing my favorites again and again. And for some "31 Days..." is the only time that TCM broadcasts them. And I am aware that my favorites may not be the same as someone else's favorites (and vice versa) so I adopt a "live and let live" attitude regarding TCM during that time, and generally all the time.
Though there are a few movies (quite a few actually) that TCM has rarely shown (like once or twice in 24 years) or not at all, that I really would like to see more of... during any time of the year.

Welcome to the boards Art.

And there's plenty here that agree with that observation. :)

I think Oscar Month should be limited to Oscar week myself.

A week is long enough, a month is WAY too long in my view.
